It’s a strange debate being had.
It’s like a microcosm of the old workplace argument of ‘did you get the customer/issue sorted?’ ‘Yes’
‘Did you do it using correct protocol?’
‘Does it matter?’
The right decision was made so any debate should end there. What shits me is when this happens both sides jump up and down like they’re the only teams that have ever been on the end of them. Symonds rescued his side from 4-40 when he edged one so hard it nearly went for 6 and went on to smash a century. During the monkeygate test Rahul Dravid was given caught behind to a ball that missed his bat by so far even Marnus wouldn’t have appealed. Some of the leg before decisions India got in 2001 were pitching so far outside leg they wouldn’t have hit a second set of stumps. That’s just from games involving Australia. There’s countless others from all teams; every set of fans thinks ‘they’ are being picked on.
Ineptitude doesn’t discriminate especially since hometown umpiring was removed from the equation (the last example notwithstanding)

There is no such thing as preflog virat.Bang on. I could sit and watch Lara, Tendulkar, Kallis, even pre flog Virat etc for hours when they were on. Lara was something else when he was going. Now relate that to footy. If i had to sit down for hours and watch Matt Owies or Orazio Fantasia highlights id probably upend my TV 2 minutes in
Pre birth? There is no such thing as preflog virat.
What’s even dumber is that those who actually know and understand the process, e.g. Simon Taufel has said that correct process was followed and that he could have just given it out without looking at snicko

i heard that ricky ponting used all of his magical powers to cause the ball to deviate that much! The optical illusion argument is one of the most laughable things I’ve ever heard.
Umpire has seen a deflection (and a change in rotation of the ball as well) from multiple angles.
He then goes to snicko (a technology that even the creators themselves have said is flawed), and it shows nothing. Which conclusion makes more sense:
A) the flawed technology has failed to pick up what he can clearly see. There are clear explanations for this (glove makes less noise, contact occurs far away from the mic)
B) there has been an unexplainable optical illusion and the flawed technology is correct?
As Simon Taufel explained, there was actually no need to even go to snicko. We see it all the time with LBWs where there is a clear edge on replay, they just say not out and continue on.
I think Sunny is right, it's likely to be a localized rainbow in the middle of the mcg, where when sunlight passes through water droplets in the atmosphere, causing the light to bend and separate into colors which makes it look like an edge. We just need a scientitian to confirm this phenomenonThe optical illusion argument is one of the most laughable things I’ve ever heard.
Surprised he hasn't done anything about his hair with those powers yeti heard that ricky ponting used all of his magical powers to cause the ball to deviate that much!
You'd hope not, but has Richardson played much cricket lately? That's probably the only thing weighing on selectors' minds.Surely to goodness we wouldn't select Sean Abbott over Jhye Richardson if Starc is ruled out

The only controversy was snicko having a sight Joel Wilson moment and claiming it heard nothing when we all seen that it did come off the batWait there's some controversy over that decision?
He smashed the cover off it lmao.
Mate, Gavaskar has been like that for well over 40 years.Gavaskar needs to retire u need to be unbiased in the commentary box. I would wonder if Tony Greig was alive him and Gavaskar would be arguing for 10 mins that it was the correct decision
