If 1mm of the ball is in line then it is in line as that part is accurate. That law needs to change.
Its not a tennis ball with a lot of give. Only a very small portion of the ball will make contact with the pitch. The rule is fine.

On whether it would hit the wicket or not, arguably only a small part of the ball would be needed to dislodge a bail. However, the predictive side of DRS is still a bit dodgy at times so some benefit of the doubt isn't a bad thing. Whether that benefit should be to the umpire or the batsman is another question.

The pitch is shit. This is the Melbourne of old. Tail enders were looking very comfortable against a newish ball and most wickets thus far have come from batsmen being too aggressive. These are the sorts of games that kill test cricket, when there’s just no contest between bat and ball.
Shocking that good batters are showing their class and bowlers have to work hard to get them out on day 2 of a test. What a sh** post.
