Is it time to talk about the pitch? Australia were scarcely troubled on it, indeed most wickets came from horrendous shots.

Going to five days will mean plenty of $$$$$ at this ground.

Has to be said though, Aus should be batting by tonight and if it breaks up you'd think 2 days is plenty for a result.

Starc doesn't suit the MCG for tests. He's more DN Adelaide and Perth. We should've rotated our bowlers like this if healthy.
Perth - Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins
Adelaide - Starc, Boland, Hazlewood/Cummins
Brisbane - Starc, Hazlewood/Cummins, Boland
Melbourne - Hazlewood, Cummins, Boland
Sydney - Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins

Hazlewood and Cummins play one each of Adelaide and Brisbane.

At this point in the game remove the quick singles at the expense of some runs over the top. Build some pressure and let them take some risk.

We struggle to win this if we don't get them out soon. Conserving runs but still having them bat tomorrow is the worst case.

The impatience here is unbelievable. It's Test Match cricket. Not between minnows either. 1 & 2 in the world. Can't just expect things to happen instantly all the time like T20. One wicket will make all the difference. Patience people.

He might get a pay rise, he is the first curator that has prepared a pitch that looks like it could go to Day 5, CA would love him..

More money going into their coffers with big crowds for 5 days rather than 3 days.
