a million times thisMost of the people questioning Bumrah's action only have a passing interest in cricket. All the cricket people I know feel there's nothing at all wrong with his action.

Wrong, they understand that a) hyperextension of 46 degrees requires resistance to achieve even in EDS sufferers. Air doesn't offer that kind of resistance, a brick wall does. And b) if they have to change the law to say you're not chucking it, then you're chucking it.Most of the people questioning Bumrah's action only have a passing interest in cricket. We needed to bowl great to win tomorrow regardless. Having them 1 for 30 overnight while chasing 300 wouldn't have changed that.
At least now we have some protection and India have to really go for it (the carrot is still there for them) if they want to close the series by the end of this Test.

Easy to say when you want entertainment and don't care about the result.
They don't need to win they just need to not lose.
We need to win.
We need to not lose actually. They don't need to win they just need to not lose.
We need to win.

There are a few stupid things to assume:
1. That it is unrealistic to hope to bowl India out in 90ish overs.
2. That a draw tomorrow means the series is over.
3. That setting a 270-300 target (from where we were 7 wickets down) and 5-12 overs bowling to India on day 4 was a gamble automatically worth taking.
As long as nobody makes any of those 3 assumptions then they have a good cricket brain. It in no way guarantees a win tomorrow, but people pretending they had a perfect alternative plan is as cringeworthy as it gets.
Border-Gavaskar is inconsequential. Only this matters. They don't need to win they just need to not lose.
We need to win.
Saw him in a doco the other day, he's been in a good paddock since his playing days

Avoid losing here or in Sydney then beat SL away and the spot is ours.
We're ahead of India atm who don't play anymore tests after Sydney. Staying ahead then doing the business in SL is all that matters.
We simply must not lose. First priority. If we can win then bonus.

Bring in Beau Webster. Last summer 2023/24, he averaged 58 with the bat in the Sheffield Shield while he took 30 wickets at 29. They appear to be the recent performances of a true all-rounder. Goodnight & good luck.Couldn’t even get 70 If he had 4 innings
Being shit for an innings doesn't count as a bowler down. Otherwise, India wouldn't have wasted any time with Siraj today.
There's 90 overs, and Starc and Lyon will certainly have a say in it.
So veteran TV and radio sports host Ian Maurice and Sri Lankan cricket journalist Daniel Alexander must be some of the exceptions you had in mind when you said 'most' instead of 'all'.
A very good record before then. How are India even in the hunt after losing to NZ 3-0 at home
I'm sorry but that wikipedia article is terrible. The accommodation to 15 degrees was sparked by Murali being called again in 2004. That's the Murali 'rule'.

Bending the rules: When the ICC discovered almost every bowler in cricket history had an illegal action
A look back to the time when the ICC realised (almost) every bowler in the world had an illegal action, and decided to change one of cricket’s most controversial rules, incorporating the current 15-degree flexion limit of the bowling arm.www.wisden.com
Play has been extended yesterday and today as far as I’m aware. Why wasn’t play extended during the middle sessions to make up time ?
How many overs were lost to rain? And not bowling min 90 overs ?
