Is saying that they deserved to win the match being a bad loser?
No and I certainly wasn't singling you or anyone out. There's been quite a few posters from my reading who've been pretty keen to regard this test as a dead rubber when England's been on top, because "We've done our job" by retaining.

It was a huge match for us and we had several golden opportunities to seize it and WIN an away Ashes for the first time in over 20 years. We've failed and - while it sure beats a series loss - the Australian team and supporters should be very disappointed with the result.

How many players here won’t be back next time to finish the job? How many have missed their last chance to win
They haven’t been beaten in England in a series since 2015.
England haven’t won Ashes for 8 years and will be 10 when they come down under.

It is what it is but it isn’t gloom and doom

The flood gates were always at risk of opening. Sadly Aust always lose wickets in clumps. Every win/loss was close....the draw who knows what might of happened there....logic suggests an Eng win, but going on the ups and downs from each side, it is all guess work.

Carey lost his way after Lord's, the crowds and media focus obviously got to him.....Murphy is definitely ready n waiting for Lyons spot. The only real find to come out of this tour for Aust.

Be interested to see if some heat will be directed at Bailey et al.....Woakes was a godsend for Eng....Neser is like for like as a bowler/batter, yet sat on the pine throughout. Questions need to be asked of Neser's non selection.

If I was an idiot who likes to habitually throw their money away (i.e. a punter), I would have put money on the Poms when they drifted out to $5 before our collapse.

And Hazlewood/Green insistence on being selected.
England changed it up early and got rewarded for it.
