He Kohli dropped a shoulder into him, unprovoked and veered toward him to do it.

Absolutely done to bully and intimidate. Coward/Bully act. Didn't see him try that against a 194 cm 100k bloke tonking the Indians about in his first innings.

Kohli is a bully and a has been. A total wash that should have been told to go two years go. I hope they keep him for another three years, a free wicket nowadays.

Poor old Virattled, a shell of the player and person he used to be. Will be remembered as a bitter, sour, sad old cricketer who became a punch line.
I think when Virat walked at Konstas he fully expected Konstas to step aside or pull away and then he would have given him a spray for being intimidated. When he didn't move Virat dropped the shoulder and acted as though it was Konstas's fault. Guaranteed there will be some hero in club cricket that does the same thing in the next couple of weeks and expects to get a slap on the wrist like Kohli did

Batsman owns the pitch and sour old Virattled looked like a stupid old fool.

Do what he did in club cricket and the batman may well drop the gloves like in ice Hockey, and start throwing hands.

Nah it wasn't good from Kohli but McGrath , Warner and others would do simular. The mistake Kohli made was touching him, he should have just said 'shut your mouth muther ****er' like Bumrah did.

Can you show us one instance where McGrath or Warner shoulder charged an opposition player?

On a separate note, I’m surprised you didn’t start a thread naming this as the worst test series you’ve ever seen 🤪

I always find it amusing those who use the LOL'd emoji without any comment, is this because they have no opinion on something? I repeat, Konstas needs a good talking too, he can't just keep opening up going and the tonk from the outset. I'm sure he's not an idiot, 113 runs at 28 in 2 Tests isn't all that flattering when you think about it. He has some learning to do. I guess we have to persevere with him as Usman is 38 and will be 39 come the Ashes. Konstas has the Sri Lanka series and the WTF Test final against South Africa to settle down. He needs to calm the farm a little bit.

Accounts of his shield batting are much more convential. It was a tactic for Bumrah and the spicy pitches. He wasn't going to score playing conventially against him. Those ramps were the right call. As safe as any shot and also got Bumrah to shift away from his unplayable line and length to target the stumps with full balls that were playable. The last two dismissals were pretty shit shots I thought - first innings trying to go too straight rather than with the swing through cover - and it wasn't the pitch for the second innings shot - shouldn't have been going across the line like that - should have been trying to ping it through the off side.

I think Konstas will get left out in Sri Lanka. Didn't look great against Jadeja in test 1. Head to open and Handsomb or McSweeney (if he can play spin) to come into the middle order.

Warne grabbed Marlin Samuals and abused him, McGrath used to stand in the middle of the pitch and abuse Sri Lankans like Romesh Kaluwitharana and others when they hit him for 6.

Sledged was the wrong term, but he was being chirped at continually to try to get under his skin and it wasn't working so Virat took it up a notch by making a bee line for him and bumping into him to try to put him off his game.

In that test, it was remarkable. A couple of Indian stars were done over mentally by a debutant. Virat was chirping continually at Konstas. Virat should have gotten rubbed out for a game because he couldn't hack that a kid was batting audaciously and wasn't responded to his pressure. And then when Konstas was in the field he annoyed Jaiswal with his chirping so much that it resulted in Jaiswal losing the plot and playing a couple of shocking shots in an attempt to ping the ball into Konstas at silly point.

You seem to think senior players should be allowed to play mind games with youngsters and newbies should just defer without playing any mind games of their own.
You need to earn your stripes before you start acting like a clown imo.

A bit of good old fashioned English Boarding School seniority based hazing is the go, you think? Newbies should just cop it?

If you're good enough to be there in the first place then play on and if you dish it out expect it back, the only problem I really had was the Kohli physical content because that definitely isn't cricket. If Konstas wants to put a target on his back then let him, he's the one who'll have to good enough to wear it.

When did McGrath, Warner and "others" ever make deliberate physical contact with opposition players? Stop making things up just to satisfy your own bias.

Kontas had no right to say anything to Bumrah at all and was out of line, Jaiswal and Starc was pure competiveness of two elite cricketers competing.

So 19 tests now makes one an "elite cricketer"?

And surely at just 23 Jaiswal should be showing more respect to a 94 test veteran

Out of curiosity - how many test matches must one play before they have the right to talk back to the opposition?

Warne pretty famously did with Marlon Samuels, albeit it wasn’t a test match.

You can’t just grab someone’s shirt and start yelling at them in the face either.

Not really sure what it matters one way or the other

No you don't, everyone has the right to do whatever they want within the rules. If he can't back it up, then his career could become an embarrassing footnote, but if he does, he could have a long and successful career.

The mental gymnastics to get here are crazy.

Are you suggesting Jaiswal is out of line telling Starc to bowl faster? It was only going to help Starc anyway and there's no nastiness in it.

So is your argument that his behaviour would be acceptable if he were older and more experienced? Seems a weird argument.

Also, what has he done that demonstrates disrespect for the game?
Telling Bumrah to go back to his mark , being a clown at short leg. Disrepecting India in general.
There's no way Cummins or anyone else in the team would act like that.
