From an Indian supporter on Sharma:

The spat is about the fact that GG wanted to play for a draw in the 3rd/final session. Rohit asked Pant and Jaiswal to chase it down. Hence, Gambhir is pi$$ed that some players tried to play with their individual/small-group plan instead of team agreed plan at Tea. That is why Pant is also in the firing line.
How were they gonna chase the target in the last session?

Marsh should have been axed long ago, Australian selector's are slow on the uptake.

At what point is “long ago”. Get specific please.

Just seeing accounts on Twitter that were going hard at Konstas & the Australians in general during the test that have turned to attacking Rohit constantly instead.

If that was Rohit’s instruction then it further illustrates his incompetence

True or not isn't the coach a rung below what the captain wants in cricket? or was that in the dinosaur era

More fool any team that could be stupid enough to put Gautam Gambhir in charge of running their operations

Sharma isn’t a great captain by any means but for the most part he’s a fairly calm character (his reaction to Jaiswal’s dropped catch notwithstanding) and I don’t imagine would be much of a dictator who creates divisions wherever he goes.

Gambhir was a c**t on the field and I’d imagine he’s just as much of a c**t off it based off how he’s handled himself in his post playing career to date.

Not a great side until you WIN a series in India/England. Key word being win not retain. It’s a good to very good side not great side regardless of the result
Bit of a stretch to call this a great Australian side. The early naughties with Warne, Steve Waugh, Langer, Hayden, Ponting, McGrath, Gilchrist. That was a ‘great’. The current crop aren’t even close to their level. The late 40’s Invincibles. That was a great side. “Great” is subjective I suppose, but if the current team I’d put Smith and maybe Cummins in the company of players from those eras. Starc has nearly 400 wickets so you could mount an argument for his quality. Lyon the best office Oz has produced. But overall as a team they haven’t produced the consistent dominance that is the hallmark of really great teams.

Member have breakfast from 8:30 to 10am. Having my first beer now
Starting early,so which player will you have a crack at today with no Harris,Marsh Maxwell etc playing.Enjoy the day and hope you took a plastic rain coat as you know what the weather is like in Sydney this time of the year.

If you can’t WIN a series against that rubbish English side last year you aren’t “great”, you are at best good it’s that simple. Yeah people can whinge about the ball…but great sides don’t lose from 2-0 up they just don’t

They were never getting it not unless Pant went beserk early
Australia’s bowling in the first session essentially ended the chase, from there realistically a draw was all that was on offer. Having said that, I do worry when teams have too long to bat for a draw, the lack of momentum can cause batters to do some weird things.
