In the larger community we see kids commit crimes like theft. When the court system trials them as juniors/kids we as a society are outraged, as they should be tried as an adult (over the age of 18).

Konstas is 19, should he be treated as an adult?

Comparisons have been made to Ginnivan when he arcs up, that he's just a kid. However, i think i heard ginny himself say he isnt a kid.

Nope I’ve made an early call on him and I’ll give it a couple of seasons for him to change my mind. I didn’t like Warner his whole career despite the runs and I’m not a Smith fan either.
I guess it says more about me that I’m quick to make judgments and slow to change but I’ll live with that.

Fair enough but while he's obviously a confident lad, I wonder if he's playing a role here. In other words the coaching group are not only supportive of his in the face behaviour, but encouraging him to do so.

Yep. He had a great debut day of test cricket. Only thing that would have capped it off would have been to be a bit luckier and find one of those edges.

We see it all year round in AFL football. Player X dives or does a selwood and gets a free - its ok because he plays for your team. But when an opponent does it, the vitriol spews.

I've seen him bat live twice ( the one game ) , no he wasn't like what he has shown at Test level .

I know a few people who have crossed paths with him and I would say their impression of him again is very different to what people are seeing .

I think we need to keep in mind his selection was a tactical move to unsettle Bumrah . He may simple be playing that over the top now

An interesting Konstas anecdote from his early junior years. Dig the Special K nickname.

Sam played fifth grade for the St George District Cricket Club at the ridiculous age of 12 and when the end-of-season report came out his coach Warwick Hayes wrote; "Watch this space - Special K will go places. He is never overawed".

Hayes knew what he was talking about as he was Saints record run scorer across all grades.
