I haven’t seen a lot of Konstas at Shield level but from what everyone here has mentioned he isn’t this aggressive in Shield cricket, so it’s clearly an instruction and plan from leadership for him to bat this way this series, so need to give him some slack I think.

Is he doing this because the team is telling him to play this way or does he feel out of his depth and doesn't back his defense?

Or has he seen teammates get bogged down by Bumrah and he decided that attack was the best form of defence rather than being a sitting duck

I don't mind seeing him going after the bad balls and putting some pressure back on the bowlers, but think he needs to learn to pick the time to go and the time reign it in a little

He was on top of the bowling, they had started to spread the field for him, he'd already scored 4 off the over and just didn't need to play that shot - hopefully he'll learn a lot from these 4 innings and watching the approach of others

Potentially it could be that we want somebody to play the aggressive fast scoring role at the top of the order given Khawaja, Marnus and Smith all tend to bat slowly, at least at the start of the innings.

He might have a defined role to replace Warner but hasn’t gotten the balance between when to play shots and temper the aggression yet.

Yes agree, the balance not quite there. Approach was right but just went a bit far in playing that shot when it wasn’t there to play.
