The absence of Bumrah has been very telling this innings.

They took some timely early wickets, but this bowling attack has lost heart pretty fast.

EDIT: Also, India only have themselves to blame. They succumbed to the temptation of over-bowling Bumrah and paid the price. They were giving him massive spells through Melbourne, or fast repeat spells. Was only a matter of time they burned him into the ground through overwork.
