Interesting to see who we've got lining up for us in the test squad in 10 or so years.

Sam Konstas - Needs to have half of Green's patience
Cam Green - Needs to have half of Konstas aggression
Nathan McSweeney - Just not opening the batting
Cooper Connolly - looks pretty good in shield and BBL but untested at test level thus far

Todd Murphy - Lyon replacement
Spencer Johnson - Looks the natural Starc replacement
Lance Morris - Not sure if he's got the skill for Red Ball, has the pace but doesn't move the ball much

Not sure on many others but I reckon we'll see a bit of this lot over the next 3-4 years as some of the old timers start being phased out

Any reason why you didn’t say this to him?
Fellow traveller
Green won't be fit for a while yet so still some time to make that decision.
I question whether Green will bowl for a while after his surgery.
And we clearly need some middle order batsmen eventually, so why not both of them if good enough

flatly incorrect.

all whilst you were bleating Australia were "miles ahead" yesterday, you were told yesterday by multiple people the pitch is hard to bat on, and now Australia have batted on it that has proven true.

Cricket was swings in it sure, but you have an obvious complete misunderstanding of how pitches work. You said yesterday that India failed because they were all out for 180 odd, well that was actually a good score on this pitch, again and you were told at the time.

Australia were never "miles" Infront. Not yesterday and not today.

You can't claim a team is miles Infront until that same team has batted on the same wicket.

Just take the L and move on, digging up won't save you.

Wrong yesterday and you are wrong today.
Looks like Jim knew what he was talking about after all. Once a batting line up applied itself, they reached 160 odd quite comfortably.

India's failure to establish a significant first innings lead was costly in the end, so both their first and second innings batting collapses put them behind in the game.

My thoughts from the series:

I'm loving
1. the bowler-friendly pitches that we've served up lately. Test cricket in Australia was slowly dying for a time.
2. Aggressive young batsmen - Jaiswal is a gun and I love what Konstas has shown thus far.

Not sure I like:
1. The batting of both sides doesn't fill me with confidence. England will be viewing both teams as beatable.
2. Our ageing stars. We don't transition the side well.
