Travelling with a club official, to a city where two big rumours have come out of (Davis/Cameron), Noble was at the GWS v Geelong game a few weeks back with binoculars in hand, players have similar physical attributes and play similar positions on the ground (Davis/Plowman), he's Victorian so I doubt his family live in Sydney, GWS are low on tall defenders if Davis/Plowman leave.
Who's the club official?

Could it be a parent? Maybe a family funeral or something sad in Sydney?

Here are their tall defenders (190+ cm). If you take Davis (rumoured to want out) and Plowman (uncontracted - assuming he's heading elsewhere) then I can see why they would want a 194cm replacement OR at least a look at him!

39 Mohr, Tim 196cm 101kg Defender
1 Davis, Phil 196cm 96kg Defender
35 Corr, Aidan 194cm 85kg Defender
38 Gilham, Stephen 192cm 86kg Defender
30 Plowman, Lachlan 192cm 84kg Defender
15 Golds, Tim 191cm 81kg Defender
Think GWS also have a guy called frost who has been OK as a KPD but I agree they are short on quality in that area, like us.

Club official?
Rumours?

He mentioned earlier.
A friend saw him travelling with someone that looked like a club official.

Not sure its too long bow to draw...players wouldn't be nicking off to Sydney for holidays mid week during the middle of the season.

No for once he ISNT injured, radio talk is he will make the 25 man squad for Sunday. Family in Sydney perhaps ?? Wouldnt be the first guy to discover family over there despite not coming from Sydney

His parents resided in Victoria a couple of years ago because I remember reading that his parents and I think it was Rory's parents often travelled together to their games.

Hey fellas. A little bit of shameless self promotion here (so for that I do apologise) but I genuinely do care about the responses too!

I've been doing a bit of writing for boundforglorynews of late and tonight (starting from 7PM with F/S and academy selections and 8PM with the proper draft) we're doing a live phantom draft on Twitter (#BFGNDraft) and on BFGN (updated every 10 picks - at this link).

There are 6 of us drafting and we've all taken a top, middle and bottom 6 team and as a supporter I've ended up with us. I was just wondering what you guys wanted so I can factor that in!

At the moment I'm looking for a KPD to partner talia and some outside skill and pace. Most of all though I'd be after two way players with some real composure

Any feedback or interest would be much appreciated :)

Skip

Possibly a late pick on a young ruckman ??

Being a tiger man I have watch Jordan Murdoch with some interest. To me he has developed into a speedy midfielder who can break away from the pack. Does anyone else think that this guy would be an asset and if so could be actually pull him away from Geelong.
Had our chance :(

Sam Shaw won't be playing for us much in the near future
Or present, or past.

I would offer Carlton Shaw , they need taller defenders
It would be like them getting back Laidler

Any feedback or interest would be much appreciated :)
A slow inside mid with questionable kicking skills

I was the original friend who boarded the 4.10pm Virgin flight from Adelaide to Sydney that seen Sam Shaw board the plane and chatting with another gentleman whose Adelaide Crows backpack had the name 'Nagel' on it. There is a Mark Nagel listed on the staff as physiotherapist....Shaw was carrying a large envelope that was either a Dr Jones & Partners or Benson Radiology envelope....I initially thought second opinion for an injury, until I checked on arriving back in Adelaide that he had been named in the 25 for game against Brisbane...I have no theories on trade....but was surprised to see him in Sydney midweek....you can believe me or not, I don't have a picture just my word!

Sounds more likely that Shaw was seeking a specialised opinion on potential injury & got the all clear, as is in the squad.

Thanks for the update :)

On the topic of Durdin, does anyone think he will drop to us? Some mock drafts have him going from 7th-9th. With us with pick 10, do you think some clubs will be hesitant to pick him? I personally would love him as an SA lad but there are other options and potentially better key defenders out there we could draft.

And with Pickett, looks like West Coast might get him, but if they pass on him and take someone else do we take him? Even though we need another tall?
Bound for Glory News did a mock draft tonight with their 1st round at

Round 1:1 St Kilda – Patrick McCartin (Geelong Falcons)
2 Melbourne – Christian Petracca (Eastern Ranges)
3 Greater Western Sydney – Angus Brayshaw (Sandringham Dragons)
4 Brisbane – Peter Wright (Calder Cannons)
5 Western Bulldogs – Jake Lever (Calder Cannons)
6 Carlton – Jayden Laverde (Western Jets)
7 Richmond – Jarrod Pickett (South Fremantle)
8 West Coast – Paul Ahern (Calder Cannons)
9 Adelaide – Sam Durdin (West Adelaide)
10 Gold Coast – Liam Duggan (Western Jets)
11 Collingwood – Darcy Moore (Oakleigh Chargers) (f/s)
12 North Melbourne – Jordan De Goey (Oakleigh Chargers)
13 Port Adelaide – Caleb Marchbank (Murray Bushrangers)
14 Fremantle – Lachie Weller (Southport)

16 Gold Coast (compo) – Corey Ellis (Western Jets)
17 Sydney – Isaac Heeney (Cardiff) (a/s)

Wasn't he listed in the 25 last week as well?

Also played a full game in the SANFL last week and was listed in the best players.

Would love Shaw and a draft pick to be part of a deal to get Davis back here.

Would he be doing a medical for another club? Or a club asking to see his medical records. (Just the last chapter would take a week)

I doubt it as season still going.

Further, why would the physio attend? The other club would use their own medical staff.

Our Physio: "He's got this injury, however, it isn't too bad because of [insert credible reason of injury to sell him at higher price]"

Because our physio would know the extent of the injury / area of concern. I would also imagine he is there to make sure they don't push him too far when testing out said injury.
If I were considering another player from another team, I would be using my own physio - not the physio of the competitor!

I would be very surprised if players are having interviews before the end of the season - not sure it is even allowed by the AFLPA.
