Sigh. Kranky, you've derailed so many threads over the past 4 years with your victim narrative. It's become really, really boring. Look, I realise that you've been brought up by your mum to believe that if you want something you haven't earned, all you need do is ware people down with infernal winging and tantruming, and they'll eventually give in. But if you and your fellow whingers could just give it a rest for a few days (as if that'll happen), I'm sure the rest of BigFooty would be very, very grateful.

Thanking you in advance.
My preference is for a grand final to be rotated so people from every capital city get an equal chance of seeing it. It would visit my city once every six years.

yours is that one city only get cheap access. That city being yours. You would have it at your city every single year.

my preference is for a system that delivers the least chance of a grand final with one team having home ground advantage over another

your is that your team will mostly have hga or at the worst be neutral towards your team.

You might want to look up the word unearned.

Lol at whining about a game five kms down the road.
What’s that definition of neutral you always tell me? When neither team is at their home ground?
So you can call all our games vs Collingwood at the MCG ‘home’ games.
Under that definition our games at Marvel stadium can only ever be called Neutral or away.

Its not over the other side of the country being the point.

your team wakes up in its own bed, plays a game and is in rehab or back home an hour later.

It isnt waiting at an airport for a cross country flight.

you would obviously rather play at home but its literally the next best thing

So other factors come into determining whether something has a home advantage.
Do you think the position the other team is in has an effect?

For example, when Richmond play Collingwood at the MCG, who gets a home advantage?

2 out of our 3 best mids not on the park as well as the first bloke picked on dusty and our AA backman mcgov.

And its raining

big ask against a team thats just quality.
Cmon kranky, we are missing our 2 first choice premiership ruckmen, a best n fairest midfielder and our premiership full back! Not to mention on your home deck where you never lose!

That's nice dear.
Now can you please shut up about it in this thread. Perhaps repeat your whinge thousands more times in the dozens of other threads you've torpedoed.
Can we please, please make the rest of this thread about the game, and not all about the unbearable injustice you're forced to live with.

You should be grateful. If it wasn’t for kranky you’d have nothing to post about.

Its probably been debated to death but the thing is from Richmonds perspective is that although we play the MCG a lot in a regular season - we only get an actual home ground advantage a couple of times a year. So far this year we have had one game where we've had a home ground advantage - which we lost against Sydney. I'm excluding our game at Marvel against GWS as this is not our home ground :). We then have a few games that we have a clear disadvantage - so in effect it evens out.

Non-vic teams get about half their games with a clear home advantage and the other half with a clear disadvantage so in effect it all evens out as well.

This season you were fixtured
3 gAmes vs marvel tenants at home
3 games vs non Victorian teams @ mcg
2 vs Geelong @ mcg
1 vs GWS @ marvel

9 games with an advantage in total. a bit more than a couple. And disadvantaged in only 7 games.

Why we even talking about fixture complaints & injuries like we're pre meditating the excuses already. Both teams have some key personal missing and the fixture has nothing to do with round 13- 2021. Its WC v Rich best 22 available at Optus bring it on & enough with the dick measuring sticks.

My wording is 'clear home ground advantage' - if you want to talk about this year - we'd have 2 this year - one against Sydney and one against Brisbane later this year - assuming we play Bris at the MCG. I wouldn't say we'd have a clear home advantage against Marvel tenants or Geelong for that matter and we definitely don't have a significant home ground advantage playing at Marvel. Whereas we will have a clear disadvantage in 6 games

You were advantaged in a greater number of games than you were disadvantaged in this seasons fixture. Better teams are more likely to gain from this no matter what your wording is. You play at the mcg 14 times, marvel tenants only once or twice. GWS has to fly in to face you. Geelong host you on your home ground. You are advantaged in all of them.

You dont need to have excuses ready

your lot are going to piss this in.

If the Eagles bring in their injured players as rumoured that means they will be close to full strength. Could easily win them the game. But then newly returned players might not be ready first up. Interesting game.

I'm hoping for another titanic tussle like in 2019 - that was the best game of the year.

If the Tigers have the nap during play like they have recently the Eagles could pour on the goals. So I'm hoping we are on and rip it apart. But I expect it tough hard and close. On their day close to the 2 best teams - just not so far this year.

Some of the returning players have been out for some time & as we have seen over recent weeks, they arent match fit, e.g Yeo & Ryan.

Soldo just needs a mullet and he will be invincible.

if he had a mullet id grant you the injuries card would be close to even

Was an epic tussle.

I think our arguments are on different tangents - I can see what you are saying and I can see what perspective you are saying it from - WC advantages and disadvantages are black and white / home and away - its either a strong advantage or a strong disadvantage. Games between vic clubs are don't usually have a strong advantage either way and dont really define the game - they also generally balance out over the season.
