It's a weird thing that the Bulldogs seem to do that tends to give their opponents the opportunity to run 5m further before kicking it.
I’ve thought about why they do it. We certainly aren’t the only club to do it. Collingwood do it as well.

When a player peels off, the player with the ball feels like they’ve got more room to run and are often called to play on. At which time the man on the mark usually closes in to where the mark is anyway and the player with the ball almost looks rushed. Not sure this is it but just my two cents.

Normally save this for the Dogs board. If McComb can still get consistent games for the dogs then there’s a very good chance I can play full forward for the dogs.
Always had a bit of a strange mix. So top heavy with talent every week you seem to be carrying 1-2 vfl caliber players without much upside.

I do see some merit in doing it. It also drops another player back into the zone to fill up space.

The thing is it means the player taking the kick doesn't need to drop as far back behind the mark which tends to speed up play a bit. You also run the risk of giving away a 50 like was given earlier.

Yeah I don’t think doing it forward of centre makes any sense. Especially when you’re doing it with Daniher. It just lacks awareness.
