Nothing about that game was a win for anyone, we played terrible, NM played a little less terrible, all in all we are both in a world of pain, that was no where near up to scratch with any other team in the competition. Helen Keller would have got brownlow votes.
The scoreboard said North won, so that’s the definition of winning.

If we didn’t play a shit side like West Coast we never would have a win.

Main reason being charities are held accountable for their mistakes and take steps to learn from them and improve not cover them up.

Only have to look at the AFLs handling of various incorrect decisions late in close games to know they have NFI. Wait several days until the decision has been reviewed and announced incorrect ad nauseum then hold a press conference to confirm what had already been concluded. Yet I can guarantee that there was an incorrect decision that resulted in a goal somewhere in that game to the team the incorrect decision late was against.

Yet say nothing when there's a game that 1 side gets an absolute armchair ride from umpires but no obviously incorrect decision late in the game. Hang 1 umpire out to dry for making an incorrect decision late in a close match yet generally the other umpires made worse incorrect calls during the match which is glossed over. No wonder decent umpires aren't umpiring at AFL level, they have too many brain cells.

For example, the Adelaide vs Sydney game late last year. Yes it was a goal. Yes Sydney deserved to lose. Yes it probably (as other results eventuated) cost the Crows a finals spot. However the concessions granted to Adelaide afterwards were a joke. I can guarantee there were other games last year where incorrect decisions changed the result of a game or 1 team got an armchair ride and won. Do those losing teams then get to cry foul and demand concessions? The umpires had NFI all game that night. Sydney got an armchair ride with incorrect decisions in the first half. Adelaide got an armchair ride with incorrect decisions in the last quarter. If, as a (supposedly) professional body, you're going to comment on incorrect decisions at least have the guts to be completely honest instead of hanging 1 individual out to dry.
Good post.

Partly (in my opinion), the displeasure comes from the introduction of technology into sports officiating.
We used to be able to accept (and complain yes) that umpires make mistakes.

But the AFL brings in half-assed technology, non-HD review cameras, poor camera angles, amateurish ARC decision making, and try to tell us all that they are there to eliminate the howler, but then use it to try and umpire the minutiae of the play in question. They are hopelessly striving to achieve accuracy in some areas, yet leave some areas of the game so full of holes (HTB debacle, rules increasingly against the ball winner, farcical stand rule, insufficient intent, ruck nominations, 50 mths for meaningless issues, northern academies, father son rule, Vic Grand Final) that you wonder if anyone really knows what’s going on in there.

So why shouldn’t we whinge about disgraceful decisions, if the AFL want to pretend about perfection then you’ll get judged as such.

Fix the game, before trying to tell us you’ll fix the umpiring decisions.

Shithouse game.

Good result.

Lololol Eagles. At least the Eagle didn’t try and steal a beer from a corporate box this week.

AFL media already bitching about their darling poor Eagles.
You should have seen Adrian Barich on Perth Channel 7 Sports Report.

Controversial free kick cost the Eagles a win and he actually had tears in his eyes.

So he totally forgot we kicked another goal after that incident? LOL

Nah, you lost with a boot full of 30 plus year olds. Huge difference to where both clubs will be in 2026 .

They have won 3 games thanks to Harley Reid and the supporter base has already returned to their flogish ways.
Can you just imagine how shit a side has to be to lose to this North Melbourne side when playing on their home deck?

Not sure there is much to be flogging about? Their best players are mostly blokes at the end of their careers.

Yeo - 30
Cripps - 32
McGovern -32

Reid will need to be Superman.

I still can’t believe we were trying to get Gaff LOL

Blokes gone full potato.

If im Elliott Yeo, im holding off all contract talks until end of the year.

A lot of these kids at West Coast are very very suspect. Yeo should be getting at least 1 million a year for the next two.

He is a gun and theres just nothing else there.

If he leaves they will be where North are now for the next 2/3 years.

You would think at 30 as much as it might hurt initially West Coast might do alright if a club competiting pays up for Yeo?

Hey kudos fore your win, but no way you watched that and thought fk yeh, we're an awesome football club.

Do you seriously believe anyone in in danger of thinking that? Like it even needs to be said?

The club is obviously in the darkness place its been in living memory, but there are two takeaways from tonight that are deserving of a toast:
1. We aren't going to be the first club in over half a century to go winless.
2. At least we aren't West Coast.

The difference is that we are the youngest list in the comp, while West Coast are much older. Your mob will feel the pain when your older blokes retire over the next year or 2. Apart from Reid you ain't got much coming through.

Unfortunate the eagles lost today but what a game to watch. Really proud of how the boys were able to bounce back from the massive lead the roos came up with in the 3rd quarter. A huge flaw today was pressure, marking and goal kicking.

Why does bad kicking excuse an atrocious decision?
Why did North deserve to win when they were behind on the scoreboard? They were behind to a team that kicked 2 goals in 3 quarters, so why do they deserve to win?
Seriously, should they have called the game off at 3qt because North deserved to win?

Doesnt excuse anything. If WCE kicked even just shit they would have won in a trot.

They kicked themselves out of the game.

Yes it’s curious, I thought North’s trade strategy was to overpay for potatoes (see also Polec, Pittard, Dom Tyson)
