If you think Geelong’s list is better you’re delusional. If the game was at marvel dogs would be favourites but instead we have to play at that wank stain of a ground.
Geelong has a better defence and forward line. Bulldogs have a stronger midfield.

There is negligible difference in the lists, so the only ones delusional would be those claiming it is delusional for the other side to think they have a better list. It is reasonable for either to believe they have a slight edge.

Imagine having to play at an opponent's ground. Truly horrific stuff.

Meanwhile Geelong have travelled to the G and beaten Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Essendon this season.

How is anyone delusional to believe a list of players that won the second last flag easily, won more games this year and won a shit tonne more games over the last 5 years is better? Dogs haven't necessarily played any better against Geelong at Marvel either so there goes your pathetic carry on regarding Geelong playing home games in Geelong. Have a think and get over it.

Look at the Ladder Prediction thread, most on BF had Geelong bottom 4 so that is where they placed our list.

I can only assume they think Scott is some sort of magician to have us up in 3rd right now.

Well actually, it's more along the lines of "soft draw, cheat ground, umpiring bias, lucky" - not many of them check out under closer inspection, but it makes people feel good.

Geelong has the best winning % in the league at Marvel.

Because they only play there once a year. Against us, St Kilda and North… one of those teams, you have the wood over and the other two teams haven’t exactly been high on the ladder for the past decade.
This goes back to when we hosted one or two games a year at Telstra Dome. Until recent years we also had many battles against Essendon and Carlton at the stadium.

Isn't there a way they can make us play on Mars? I don't think the Cats have won on that planet.
We haven't played a sanctioned game at Eureka but I did drive to Ballarat with my Bombers supporting brother to see us win a preseason match there

My hopes for Cockatoo were sky high and thought we might be getting somewhere with Thurlow.

Feels like there’s a bit of bigfooty niggle going into this one. Can only hope the players read this thread so there’s just as much feeling out on the field.

This could be one of the Doggies great wins IF they bring the same form and effort they had against Carlton last week. Stringing that together two weeks in a row has been a real issue for them this year though.

2016 was a flag that got away for Geelong. They had a MCG prelim and choked big time against the Swans.

Why did Geelong not play Stanley? If SDK has to play ruck, it’ll free up Naughton. SDK will probably be beaten by English anyway, but Stanley always gives him a bath.

Take out the tenant clubs and Geelong has played there more than anyone, over 100 games, including plenty of home games when the AFL was still paying it off.

Far more mobile without Stanley.
De Koning is averaging 20 disposals a game since moving to the ruck. While he will get beaten by English, he likely breaks even around the ground.
It's a good thing English is soft, De Koning will enjoy that particular match-up now.

I do think De Koning and Blicavs will alternate between back/ruck whilst Henry and Stewart try and negate Naughton and Ugle-Hagan.
You don't really have a great match up for Darcy

If that’s the case Darcy will cause problems

But also, outside of Dangerfield and Selwood that team was pretty bad. Take a look at the forward line, and one of the slowest finals defences this century.

Sydney had a much stronger list, but somehow lost to both GWS and the Bulldogs when it mattered.

Comparing our bottom 6 players now to then is equally as mind blowing as comparing our top 6 then to now.

Yep. Such a frustrating year as it was like a slow moving car crash. Some good players but a horribly unbalanced side that was ripe for the picking come finals time.
