He is also coaching what many regard as a current bottom 4 list that is also in the youngest few in the comp.
Most comment that they like what he is doing , he will get heat in a season or two as the team gets more games and expectations naturally rise .

And all games matter and every coach in professional sport has pressure on them
Some more than others though. If today's game follows the first half's trajectory and Hawthorn lose by 60+, I'd suggest that the third year coach of the Hawks would be on the hot seat, if it was a contemporary, whose playing career had been at another club.

Because he's a Hawthorn champion, I suspect that he has an extra 12 months' grace than if, I don't know, Spike McVeigh or Lenny Hayes had achieved the identical results over three years as Hawthorn coach. I just think people are automatically welded to this thinking that Sam Mitchell is the right man for the job from what seems like (at least to me) very little evidence and absolutely minimal pressure for results.

In his defence they completely butchered the list before he started

Bigger concern than Watson missing the big sticks is he had 2 tackles last week and zero so far today. His attitude and work rate is miles off this level.

That is the Hawks forward line in general.

Watson, Ginnivan, Breust, Gunston, Chol, Lewis, love the goals and the highlights. Forgettable for the other 95% of the game.

Training drill.
Dees after all the off season innuendo and mediabation, have simply come out to play in 2024 with a fair bit of intent and unity. And a forward line!
