lol Port Adelaide are welfare queens.

Such a bullshit claim you guys always hide behind

feel free to search for the afl table of equalisation payments where you will find port is mid table.

keep enjoying the free rent at west lakes that was given to you by taxpayers while trying to snatch away the parklands and aquatic centre and your $15million state grant.

Very soft after so much chest beating and tough talk from the AFL, So much for a “severe penalty for anyone who breaks the rules”, and it’s a wonder why clubs don’t take these threats by the AFL seriously.

And the most logical penalty.

Do you actually read the statement from the AFL?

The club provided written and verbal instructions to the players and assistant coach to comply with rules and protocols. The assistant coach did not comply with the rules and protocols and neither did the players.

Therefore the penalty has fallen where it should.

I’m interested in the logistics of how this happened according to the afl report.

the crows provided the rules and protocols to be followed, they were being followed , then hart broke them when he brought them together for a kicking drill..

The players should have been isolated under 14 day quarantine, and even if allowed out together, alone (however that works) how do you bring 16 players together for a drill unless they are already.... together?

without details here it’s hard to imagine hart just did this

Also how did it move from the crows saying we thought we had an exemption to we told hart what to do and he did the wrong thing?

that’s two different stories?

the exemption was something they thought they had from police (But didn’t) and hart was a different **** up?

that sounds weird.

The club has completely thrown him under the bus in order to protect themselves. Wouldn't expect anything less the way that club is run...

You are conflating 2 different rules:

- the SA covid-19 regulations in relation to the quarantine restrictions for arrivals into SA. These rules are enacted under legislation by the SA Govt. and enforced by SAPOL and require quarantines persons to stay in their quarantine accommodation (home or hotel room) for 14 days. The crow players broke these regulations but it was viewed as an 'honest mistake' and were issued with an education instruction rather than a fine by SAPOL.

- the AFL rules on player conduct and protocols that are currently in force that restrict player contact and training regimes to groups of 2 only. The crow players broke these AFL rules but the AFL believes that this was an 'inadvertent mistake' by the players and their assistant coach. Accordingly a suspended 1 match penalty was imposed on the players and a 6 week penalty on the Assistant Coach (Ben Hart) who did not follow AFL and AFC rules and instructions.

2 different sets of rules. 2 different penalties.

AFL aren't concerned with SA covid-19 restrictions on quarantined players and how the Govt. and SAPOL enforces them.

SAPOL aren't concerned with AFL rules on players training and how the AFL enforces it.

So the players have blatantly disregarded clear, written institutions and broken AFL rules ? (and SA health rules) hours after Gill threatened “season long bans for any players who did the wrong thing”

AFL are all bark and no bite, talk tough but soft when it comes time to dish out punishments.

If what your saying is true then there is no excuse for what the players have done and they should be getting more like 10 weeks (Worth noting Greg Swann suggested mid week for players who deliberately did the wrong thing)

Actually I don't agree with public land being used that way. The park lands should stay as they are. I'm enjoying your melt though.

Regardless of what people think about the Crows, can we all agree that Sam McClure and Tom Browne are grade A flogs without a shred of credibility?

You're usually a sensible poster why are you losing your shit over this?

Just checked out the thread on the Adelaide board. They are all celebrating the fact that the assistant coach who was completely thrown under the bus by the club in order to save themselves has been suspended. Most wishing that he was suspended for longer. Something very rotten at that club, from the inside and out...

He's just not a very good coach and most of us don't really want him. It's no different to all the posts in the 'sack Hinkley' thread except Kern gets paid a lot more.

on fox footy live nicks said hart was quarantined in his hotel room and wasn't actually a part of the training since that would throw the numbers for pairs out.

Do we know whether a ceremonial witch burning will take place in his room and conducted via Zoom or will he be simply tarred and feathered on the adjacent Golf course followed by some kind of public stoning?

My question is.. if the crows made the rules clear

and the rules were being followed regarding only 2 players training at a time..

how do 16 players come together for a kicking drill under harts orders?

like logistically what sequence of events could happen?

Are they saying that 2 guys were training and hart went and got 14 other guys from their rooms and brought them out to the course and started the drill?

where were the players before they started the drill? if they were not gathered there already breaking the rules?

I’m asking from a position of seeing something that isn’t clear in the story told and wondering if anyone else has a suggestion of what was meant to have happened?

Short memories some of these Tigers supporters.....I wonder if he's one of the ones screaming for Hardwick's head before the big clean up?
