The changes don't make me very enthusiastic, but understandably bringing in Cox for Moore makes sense and I'm not against De Goey being dropped from the senior team.

I'm scared of the prospect of facing Richmond when they've hit rock-bottom and the media has been tearing them apart this week. Based on recent form, we should win this match with relative ease but against a big rival that will want to prove their doubters wrong I'm cautiously optimistic about our prospects.

The first ten to fifteen minutes of the first quarter will tell us how this match plays out. If Richmond show up, we have a game on our hands but if they show the same brand of football that has seen them smashed by Hawthorn and GWS in the last two weeks I would be confident about our chances.

I would love to demoralise them, but winning no matter the circumstance is my first priority and anything else beyond that is a bonus.

I believe our list was good enough to play finals this year, even with the injuries we have sustained. The reason we have failed, IMO, is that our coaching team place too great a focus on contested possession, at the expense of effective disposal.

You will not agree with this, and that's fine, but if Beveridge and his coaching team were in charge at the beginning of preseason, we would be in the top 8 now.
The Dogs under Beveridge do put a strong emphasis on contested possession and clearances. That is what their game is built on.

This is a playing group facing demolition / full rebuild next year. I can understand a team bouncing back but it is hard to play for mates knowing you are on the chopping block / gone at the end of the year. ( Hi Travis ;) )
Maybe they are united but a 4 goal match is pretty hard to turn around plus whatever happened off field since then.
We will smash them.
Greenwood does a job on Cotchin, Martin only handballs around for the Brownlow and they send Rance to Cloke :)
And I am going to watch the game:
I got a 100% win/attendance ratio in my short MagPie fan career . Success guaranteed

True, but it is also complemented by good kicking. There is no use in winning a contested possession if you just give it back to the opposition.

The Dogs dominate the ball but dont do much with it, have huge midfield numbers but struggle to transition and create quality scoring opportunities.

The Dogs are a middle of the road kicking side.

Middle of the road is a long way ahead of us.

I'm on the couch tonight so my seat will be empty. Have some awesome beers in the fridge though!
But what use are awesome beers if they are in the fridge?
Aren't they better in your tummy?

They won't stay in the fridge for long, and some of the empty ones could find themselves being thrown at the TV if things go wrong.

A win tonight and Dogs lose, completion of the round we may sit 10th v the Doggies 8th, two middle of the road teams.

And that is with our own handicap of being awful by foot.

Imagine if Buckley had the slick ball users that Beveridge has at his disposal!? ;)

If it all goes pear shaped, then toss a few more down
