Wonder how this will affect our game on the weekend....

Maybe if another dozen or so North players become unavailable it may help our cause šŸ˜‰

In reality I have no doubt we'll be impacted by covid related reasons at some stage - just a case of when and whom... While most off of players seem to reside within the Geelong region, we do have a few who travel from Melbourne, so thinking they'd be the ones more likely just based on case numbers

When do they name a side we play tomorrow don't we?

The sides for tonight's game came out about 5pm last night, so I'm guessing ours will be released around that time this evening.

Welcome back Kate

Looking at those ins, it would appear to be our 3 mature aged recruits (pre-draft), our two traded in players and two draftees

So with those 8 inclusions, plus Kate & Nina making their returns after being absent last season it's a minimum of 10 changes from our last match last year - does anyone have our last team from last year for comparison?

They obvious outs are Rocky, O'Connor & Goring, looks like Caris is also out with Fuller starting the season as our preferred ruck. Liv Barber unavailable, with Gardiner & Remmos also missing, and I don't recall if Brown or Taylor played in our last match against GC

Players missing from the last game last year:

Barber, Caris, Cranston, Gardiner, Garing, Garner, Higgins, Moloney, O'Connor, Remmos.

Does anyone know when Liv Barber will be back?
Along with AmyMac, she was probably the only shining light from last year.

Fuller, Morrison, Prespakis & Webster is an extremely young & inexperienced midfield brigade but one I'm excited to see in action.

Outside of McWilliams, it's a new look forward line as well.

Let's hope this year is an exciting new reset, and with 8 new faces it already looks promising without a ball being kicked in earnest.

Wonder if tonight's result shines a slightly more positive light on us considering we beat Richmond on their own dunghill a few weeks ago, albeit in a practice match.

A little bit but I think the Round 1 match will be an indicator of where the Cats compare to a top half team with 2-3 first choice players out, whereas pre-season was not close to doing that.

Fair point. I was just trying to be optimistic.

In fairness, I think if we get within 4-5 goals of North this afternoon it will be a big step forward from last year when we were flogged by 10 goals in the corresponding fixture.

A practice match is just that, you don't take to much out of it. We need to improve in the real stuff that's what counts, We was just so hard too watch last year i turned it off in so many games.
