What's all that about leopards and spots.

In fairness to Jeff, I'm not sure how a young woman slipped through the event's defences. Young Liberal events are surely exclusively designed for private school lads wearing golf/country club attire and too much hair product, who whisper a derogatory opinion about poor people as a password to the doorman

It’s pretty much a condition of entry

It is incredible how Jeff Kennett can get away with ruining the lives of coaches who sacrificed and devoted much of their energy to achieving ultimate success. This is the same individual that supposedly runs a mental health hotline.

It's ****ed. Totally ****ed.

...and as a side note (possibly a lesson for anyone really), if you have issues with the place you work at, you make sure to report things straightaway with witnesses. By waiting and waiting (in this case 10+ years), you are allowing the AFL and Hawthorn themselves to devise mechanisms to delay or question what happened.

It's a no-win situation unless there is a payout. You speak up there and then!

Hawthorn have settled their Federal Court case with Indigenous former players and their families, apologising for their experiences at the club, and reaching a financial settlement.

After two days of mediation this week, the players and club agreed to a carefully worded statement acknowledging the matter was resolved.

Hawthorn racism scandal over as settlement reached

After two days of mediation, a confidential resolution has been reached between Hawthorn and former players and their partners, MARK ROBINSON reports.

The Hawthorn racism scandal has ended after the club and the former players and their partners reached a settlement on Wednesday.
After two days of mediation, a confidential resolution was reached, which ended the two-year saga.

The Hawks are expected to make an announcement in the next 24 hours.

“It’s a good result for everyone – people just want to move on,” a source said.

Four-time Hawks premiership hero Cyril Rioli and his wife Shannyn Ah Sam-Rioli, former players Carl Peterson and Jermaine Miller-Lewis, his partner Montanah-Rae Lewis, and Hawthorn’s former Indigenous liaison officer Leon Egan had pursued legal action over alleged racism discrimination and negligence when they were involved with the club.

The current legal positions of former coaches Alastair Clarkson, Chris Fagan and Jason Burt, who were named in witness accounts, is not known.

I'm not sure the officials were seeking damages at this level. I thought this was about the players actions. I would think the officials will have to take their own action or just negotiate suitable compensation. If someone knows better please post. We are all a little curious about this]side of things.

The coaches' grievances with Hawthorn were never a part of the HRC process obviously. I don't think any legal action has ever commenced at any level between the coaches and club. Even if they had this in mind, I'm sure they would have needed to let the process with the players resolve first. And now, I can't see Clarko and Fagan wanting to drag it out. They would only do so in support of Burt who has arguably suffered greater damage to reputation and future earnings potential than either of them.

A pro? That’s one way of looking at it. If he’s from Andrews’ office, lying little scumbag is probably closer to the mark…

Andrews had the best media management team in the country
