He'd be a better man if he stayed and got himself involved with the Pink Magpies to fight this kind of thing within the playing group.

But doing that wouldn't be as headline grabbing.

Here's my fav part of the article...

"Lumumba said in that meeting he might resign to which it was suggested that that might not be a bad idea. He withdrew that comment but plainly made his uneasiness about the situation known to teammates after that meeting."

So when push came to shove, he backed down. lolz.

Possible but still uncertain it happens until a definite decision is made by both the club and H.

We may have a candidate to be involved in a trade for Jeff Garlett.

Wouldn't say no to a trade for Jon Giles either.

I get the impression Lumumba wouldn't be able to handle half of the smack that gets yelled around my schools yard..

It's not really even a homophobic comment anyway. Mildly at worst.

I know a couple of gay people well and they would not be offended by such a joke. In fact, they'd love for Scott and Dayne to attend the Mardi Gras!! Lol

Lamumba might be a drama queen but he's one more 2010 premiership player I don't want to lose. Who else is planning to leave. Swan? Goldsack? I would prefer to keep most of the 2010 premiership side intact, working through the draft to strengthen the team. Now the regeneration of the team will have to be accelerated to build the side up again. At least we will have plenty of salary cap space to recruit star players from other teams now.

We should make the decision for him, trade him. Something crops every year with him and enoughs enough.

O'Rourke is 188cm, a nice height for a utility.
Oops my bad. He was listed as 183 on google , I then checked the gws website and he is indeed 188. So I reckon we could trade harry for o rourke and shiels. We could add our third round pick as well.

Pissweak effort from a player who is but a faint shadow of his former self. However, he is yet another player to fall out with the coach. Other clubs don't seem to experience the player exits we have over the last few years.

Nevertheless, he has not performed to expectations the last few years and will be no great loss to the team. Having said that, I'd have to add that the club can ill afford to shed any more experienced players.

To suggest that we will get even a 2nd round pick for him seems almost fanciful. In some ways he is worth more to us as a player than he is as a trade.

What with injuries and player loss, the club just does not strike me as being all that well run.

That's my concern too, although HL did not exactly stand up when onfield leadership was needed this year.

can't beleive some of the comments in this thread. i dunno, i still really like the guy and loved what he's done for the club. clearly he's at times naive but i've never felt his heart wasn't in the right place and i can't fault him for that, let alone abuse him for it. that goal and celebration in the 2010 reply is one of my top all time magpie moments.
