You mean like give away billions to businesses who didnt need it and never paid it back? It was one of the most reprehensible policies ever introduced in this country since i have been living (the only worse policy that comes to mind is the horrendous way we have locked up illegal refugees).

What is an illegal refugee?

Mining was around long before Dutton and is good for our country. The billionaires invested in renewables (that Albo is using tax dollars and a non nuclear energy policy to prop up) don't want nuclear plants to come online and render their projects expensive white elephants. IMO that's the main game here.
Renewables with storage is cheaper then nuclear. And will only get more cheaper going foward.

Someone claiming refugee status deceptively to circumvent the immigration system.
That's a failed asylum seeker. They have the right to seek asylum and countries have the right to reject it if their criteria isn't met. Nothing in that is illegal.

You get free power in some states between 11am and 2pm because if renewables. So you are right renewables are making prices spiralling …. DOWN.
Albo went to an election clearly stating that everyone would save $300. This clearly did not happen and was never going to happen. Your defending the undefendable.

Power prices went out of control cos fossil fuel prices went up. That has nothing to do with renewables.
It has taken a lot of bipartisan effort to convince the Australian public that gas prices and corporate profiteering aren't over 50% responsible for the spike in power prices and inflation in general.

The creation of the big LNG projects to export gas has incased by 500% the local price of gas (previously state-owned and couldn't be exported). Now we give to to companies for free to export, all they have to pay for is the tax-deductible export facility.

All electricity prices are subject to Supply vs Demand.
There is not enough electricity when renewables are not generating, so the suppliers cash in.

With plans to close coal plants, and plans to electrify truck and bus fleets, this shortage will continue for a long time while they play catch up with wind farms, solar farms and batteries.

Nearly everything you buy is based on supply and demand and the manufacturing/production costs are sometimes irrelevant.

And the coalition solution to that is to slow the growth of renewable to extend the price gouging window

That "Cash-in" is built into their investment and prices. The best way to smooth investment and provide more surety of investment is to have more renewables more spread out and greater battery systems for smoothing supply during peak demand (and absorbing during trough demand).

It was $275 and everyone is getting $300…
Not this utter garbage again...

Nobody in their right mind, not even the man who said it, believed he meant that they would subsidise power prices as a way of "bringing them down".

It was a stupid thing to say at the time (which he didn't need to) and he is now being deservedly derided for it.

This is correct. But the LNP can't even pursue that attack because their power policy would see energy prices increase overall, including Govt investment and subsidisation of nuclear energy.

Have some patience, his promise hasn’t expired yet and renewables are bringing the wholesale price down. Watch this space.

Spot the difference, these are todays wholesale spot price in NSW ……
Which one is dominated by gas? and which one is dominated renewables?

Now when Snowy hydro and more battery storage comes online and powers the grid during peak periods, what will happened to prices? Hmmmm up or down? 39A83E5C-5A2B-4155-925F-684ADE62506F.jpeg
