Autopsy Autopsy vs Geelong - Geelong think so little of us that at one stage their starting midfield was Stanley/Bruhn/Dempsey/Atkins & they won the clearance

Was it knee or ankle? It looked ankle to me

Knee. My best guess is it's an MCL or PCL strain. It looked like a bit of an outwards hyper-extension which don't typically result in ACL injuries. 🤞🏽

I am not a doctor though so this is obviously just a guess based on a lifetime of watching athletes and knee injuries.

His knee buckled bending inwards.

Looked very ACL like.

Could've had the best defence in the league today and it wouldn't have made a difference. Sure they've been terrible at times and McDonald's turnovers are killers. But it's the lack of running fitness, the lack of second and third efforts of the forwards and the midfield and the defence that mean we are constantly being outnumbered and outworked. We look OK when we get the ball but we are genuinely pathetic without it - and that includes the forwards and the mids.

We just don't do enough transitioning it out of defence, and the turnovers speak for themselves.

The first quarter was so bad I actually turned it off and didn’t turn it back on.
* it.
Game day thread was still entertaining though
I totally get you turning off. I am sure most of us think about it every week. The reason I keep watching is for the small wins ie Cooper's first goal. I am glad I got to see and celebrate that in real time.

He actually walked off in front of us without his boots looking quite normal so hopefully not too bad.
Tom Doedee was trying to warm up on the boundary despite having done his ACL. Obviously I pray its not that and he is fine.

I'm not ITK, not well connected but do have a mate who knows a player. Heard some worrying things. It sounds a lot like the mid to senior players are just resigned to being sh!t and don't see it as their responsibility to improve things. As though they just happen to be unlucky to be there and can't do anything about it. Happy to have $10,000k plus put in their bank accounts each week though. There's a lot of going out, poor preparation before training , pretending to be earnest at the club but really not giving a rat"s. And apparently some really loose behaviour but that wasn't elaborated on. Not surprising though given how unfit we are. Then there's Sheezel, Wardlaw and some other kids being absolute professionals. So rifts at the club.

-Heartbroken for Logue, one of the rare 'brains' we have in the backline. Dawson might get an opportunity to salvage his career.

-The game reeked of a team that had zero belief they could win.

-Felt for Young and Perez, brought back in, likely fighting for their careers, and they have to endure near world record amount of inside 50's with no Logue. Perez's goal hopefully gives the panel the thought to trial him on a wing again.

-Booper had a promising debut.

-Zurhaar is an irresponsible footballer at times, he thinks he's Modra but he's often just a tubby Mitch Hahn. I have sympathy though as sometimes he gets it and blazes away because he either has no options or doesn't trust the ones he has. Perplexing.

-Didn't think Xerri was too bad all things considered, certainly not good but would persist with him ahead of Goldy for the moment.

-Curtis chooses when to go. Must be addressed.

-Goater/Comben/Berg/Wardlaw/Phillips in this team before the end of the year will be a salve of some sorts.

-The team is not going to salute Ratten with a win and it tears at my soul, the poor bastard has tried so hard with us for zero reward. His frustration at quarter time when interviewed actually made me feel better. The team is paralyzed and the end of season can't come quick enough.

-LDU, someone else said it earlier but barely got out of a canter and still was best on. Imagine if he thought we could win? Or if there was any other threat in the middle that might need some attention from the opp.

Larkey was frankly quite poor in the first half of the season. Others disagree and that's fine. We don't need to litigate it in this thread.

But your captain needs to demonstrate sustained consistency, and I doubt even Larkey's biggest supporters can argue that he doesn't have a history of disappearing for patches.
To be fair to LMac he has been pretty consistent apart from that little patch where he played quite well.

I could totally believe that, it's probably endemic throughout a large proportion of the playing group.
