If we get rid of the annoying Ground Announcer and the loud music I might think of attending...might

The way this weekends results have gone I would not be surprised if we turn up and win...

Thank goodness they went with ABBA's "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)" after we finally broke a run of 12 consecutive goals and were 15 goals down. Otherwise the atmosphere woulda been shit......

Larkey a huge disappointment.

Doesn't look even close to a dependable tall fwd. Does he need glasses?

Been absolutely smashed by his defender 3 games in row. (I don't care about delivery he is losing every 50/50 too)

What else could he possibly say?

I personally think it’s more a reminder to our supporters to calm the farm down and to understand this is going to happen at times during a rebuild. It’s also a team missing several players plus a team with many new faces incl a bunch of kids who have not played much footy together. It may or may not be a successful rebuild in the end but in the interim take a breath and let’s wait and see!

And re GF, unfortunately our supporters need reminding to turn up! And hopefully they turn up this weekend and support the team!!
We will be outnumbered by Crows fans next week.

I know some of our people are bitterly disappointed today and very frustrated with yesterday’s performance.

We share your frustration but we remain steadfast in our resolve to stay true to our rebuild strategy.

As David Noble said after the game, we are climbing a mountain and we will not deviate from the path we’ve elected to take. It means there will be some pain along the way, and some days will be harder than others, but we have to stay focused and keep our eyes fixed firmly on the destination we are heading.

This is the only way in such a tough competition.

We will continue to work hard with our young group and will continue to reinforce the club’s values and demand we all stay true to the fighting spirit we’ve always shown for more than 150 years

Throughout this, we must remain calm, composed and focused as an organisation. As hard as it is right now, footy goes through cycles and it can, and will, turn.

While the position we are in at the moment is unfamiliar, we will, as other clubs have done, fight through it. We ask our members and fans to continue to support our boys and the club.

We have a young group and a very experienced coaching panel led by David Noble. We must continue to support them and encourage them - if we’re asking the players not to pick and choose when they turn up, we can’t either.

We are a proud club and this situation is foreign to us so it hurts, but we are in a very strong position off the field and our financial position has never been stronger – we were one of only three Victorian clubs to remain in the black through the Covid pandemic.

With your continued support, we can and will get through this period and come out even stronger.

From everyone at your club, thank you for your ongoing support – that’s the Shinboner way.

Go Roos!

He didn’t need to do that. That just reeks of fear of what the turn out will be against Adelaide.

Has never. Never. NEVER. NEVER EVER. Looked like a #1 key forward. Last week the Dogs sent their best key back to Josh Kennedy. That didn't work out so he battled away on Jack Darling. This week he went to Nick Larkey.

The Port - Eagles game is interesting right now - Port getting beaten, but Georgiades is going well. The point of the comment is that he plays third tall (behind Dixon and Ladhams), whereas Larkey - similar player, but a little bit older - has to play one out

No one. Absolutely no one will be going next week because of that email. Everything in it was self evident. It was such an obvious attempt at panic control, that it only emphasised that panic is perceived to exist.
That email was steeped in fear.

I think we win next week.
This will be a turning point, and an illustration in effort.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities. It's pretty bloody hard to go winless in a season and this is probably our best chance of snagging one for a while. Certainly helps that it's on our home deck and that we're officially in a "backs against the wall" position, which has quite often seen us respond well in past years.

I'm certainly not expecting it, but I've put a tenner on us having a small win.

Any AFL player , regardless of experience would absolutely hate to be thrashed like that. It wouldn't surprise me if some have never experienced it before to the level they experienced yesterday.

I believe they will be seething and counting down the days until redemption.

I don't believe footy is complicated in it's purest form.
Intent and effort is all that's required to be competitive and win games.
Sure you won't be a top 4 team on that alone.

You need talent , depth and a successful game plan. But that's what separates the top 4 from the rest.

The rest are working towards that.

The boys will dig in hard, and make their own luck.

The 1% ers is what matters, and they're all capable of that.

Geez I hope you are right - we have to find a way up slow down scoring once our mids lose ascendancy.

Also, don’t want to see Goldy dropping a kick behind ball if we have a fwd half stoppage, reckon it’s one of our few avenues to score.

Lastly, Walker, McKay and Ziebs in the same back 6 doesn’t work for mine - too slow.

Usually we are too proud of a club to keep churning out pathetic efforts, hope it turns this week.

Every beaten side is having that problem, hence the score blow-outs. The rule changes have virtually abolished the rolling scrimmage as the way to play low-scoring attritional football and still win - I can't see too many victories this year from a scorline like 10.6.66, but in recent seasons that would have kept you in a lot of games. Not this year

I also hate the loud music and the inane competitions that they hold and screech out the results. It ain't a 20/20 cricket match.

I am an old Fitzroy supporter and a Brissie and a North member. I have seen the situation North finds itself in before but there is one absolutely crucial difference. North is out of debt and at this stage nothing else matters. Can't be sent to China or anywhere else when you are paying your way. An outstanding result when you think of it. I went out to the Western Oval in the 90s many times and the only highlight was the beers in the social club at half time.

We suck on field and I think the first thing is to restrict the opposition scoring. This is what Fages concentrated on when he took over the basket case Lions. Play all the juniors but restrict the scoring and get the % better.

Yep, I don’t disagree. It’s certainly harder to slow scoring once you start losing contested ball but we have to find a way as we aren’t skilled enough yet to capitalise when we are winning contested ball.
