Our esteemed mod Flawed Genius may help.

Like to hear how he would do better.

Help with what? I've not had a crack at the admin or the coach. But since you asked old mate. Here you go

I think Brad and Cam were the ultimate self preservation experts. I think they resisted cutting the list like Brady did for as long as they did because they knew this (awful smackings) would be the result. I think they wanted to keep their well paid jobs at NM and so they went after players like Higgins NDS Waite etc that would keep the club contending but never dropping out. I would also like to think that they considered potentially dropping to the bottom at the time may have had a negative impact on the club's future prospects as an organisation and so tried to avert that.

They tried AGAIN with Polec but only succeeded in locking us out of the best draft in a decade when every other club would have engineered another pick before Tarryn

I think Brady having been at a club where they would have done oppo analysis on NM a number of times would have had as good an understanding of our list as any outside in the league. I think he came in and immediately cut the players who coasted for too long producing too little. I think Brady kick started the rebuild that we should have done in 2016 or 2018. We are going to be really really bad for the next two years at least and we will benefit from it with cracks at the best one or two players in the draft instead of the eighth or ninth best

I would use the mid season draft to pick up a seasoned body or two to support the kids. Certainly a key forward and potentially one that can pinch hit in the ruck. I think much of what has happened is down to bad injury luck but even that should necessitate a review of the relevant portfolios at the club given we seem to have bad injury luck every year.

I agree with the idea of building from the midfield out. Given this years draft crop is apparently midfielder heavy we should look to take the best available midfielder. Use our war chest on a key forward. Keep pushing forward with Nobles game plan as I can see where it works. It just needs the kids to get 20-40 games in as quickly as possibly. We need to bite down and realise that these are not easy fixes and that it will take pain and hurt to get to where we need to be. But I would rather do this than finish 9th-12th every other year

Now that I've answered your question, care to offer your insights as to how you'd do better?

I'm happy in Noble's care.

As am I. I think he is a teacher and someone who will not be swayed by outside influences. He looks like a man who will do right by the club

I'm not an AFL coach? Are you?
not sure of the relevance but yes I'm Ken Hinkley. How's my team going

Thanks for reply.

I appreciate it and worth reading.

Nah it was a good reply. Thank you.

I like good footy speak but you shafted me massively last time.

I'm confident in Noble.

Our leadership group I have zero confidence in.

Any AFL player , regardless of experience would absolutely hate to be thrashed like that. It wouldn't surprise me if some have never experienced it before to the level they experienced yesterday.

I believe they will be seething and counting down the days until redemption.

I don't believe footy is complicated in it's purest form.
Intent and effort is all that's required to be competitive and win games.
Sure you won't be a top 4 team on that alone.

You need talent , depth and a successful game plan. But that's what separates the top 4 from the rest.

The rest are working towards that.

The boys will dig in hard, and make their own luck.

The 1% ers is what matters, and they're all capable of that.

I agree 100%

I still believe we're not fit enough.
Yep, 100% not fit enough, not willing enough, not smart enough and have no idea how hard you need to run....

In the 3rd Q at one point our 2 key defenders had covered the most Km's, whilst the doggies top 5 were all mids/flankers.

We were just constantly outnumbered = outworked.

I think we win next week.
This will be a turning point, and an illustration in effort.

...great words, and to think I was thinking Chops was talking about who was better at changing a tyre.

It’s woefully apparent that the side simply does not run to provide options when in possession.

It’s part mental and part physical.
I mention it last week. We just don’t work hard enough to get hand ball receives. Which I don’t get cause it the easiest way to get a kick.

Yeah, been following the girls a lot so bitterly disappointed with today’s game. My son and daughter are about to start their seasons so I’ll be watching a lot of that! SANFL is great to go to, and my son is playing U16’s and training with U18’s so there’s still plenty of footy to watch. And beers to be had.

Can someone answer for me how many goals did Bruce kick on walker and how many on McKay if any?

And i bet he's white, all whites are evil made from slugs n snails and puppy dog tails. Or at least that what my Marxist indoctrination classes say.

obviously not the thread for it but the marxist tradition is all about uniting across race, gender etc. towards the shared interests of the working class. not to mention marx was a white guy. your battle is with liberalism

If we get rid of the annoying Ground Announcer and the loud music I might think of attending...might

The way this weekends results have gone I would not be surprised if we turn up and win...

If anything North would stand out more if it actually adopted the chest-beating about its history and pride as an older more working-class club instead of trotting it out to members like a cliche and it didn't do all that modern-day sports shit.

I cannot for the life of me, CAN. NOT. think of a single person who enjoys it and thinks "Gee wiz, footy's alright, the beer is nice and chips are hot, I'm getting reamed with my wallet but you know what makes things alright? The basketball music and stupid announcing theatrics!"
