You obviously have zero idea about Jacobs... do you think Geelong are seeing the trade they did for warnock for pick 28 as a "huge win"...

and the post before... T Walker + draft pick for Tambling... was that a joke???

You obviously have zero idea about football.....given you think Warnock played for Geelong.

must be lower than 20 however couldn't make your best 22 this year and when he did play he averaged less than 15 touches per game

Geez you'd think that the opposition supporters who come over here would at least have their basic facts right. If you're going to come over here and post false statements then we really don't care for your opinion.

For what its worth Tambling had an injury plagued year, which led to hip surgery which ruled out his last quarter of the season basically.

Richie Tambling is a perfect Trade Week commodity...

Highly touted low draft pick who has shown signs of genuine ability but is also inconsistent.
Definitely would get clubs with a settled and experienced core group interested as they would see the potential in him and also believe they could get him firing in their own environment.

For us it could work well too as unlike most trade talk, in Bling's case he may be worth more to others than he is to us!

At the end of next week though, if we don't get a favourable deal through then roll up to pre-season training late October Richie and show us your true form!! :thumbsu:

i honestly dont think tambling will give 100% playing for richmond. best let him go, he's just cruising around getting paid, best let him go.

I personally think the Tigers should persist with Tambling. Given all the development they have put into him, they wouldn't want to trade him out cheaply and have it come back to bite them on the arse. Who knows if he was ever fulfill that enormous potential he has, but I think they should give him another year or 2 to prove his worth and consistency. He's only 24 and has huge upside.

I hear my team is keen, as we're looking for an outside player with pace. Geelong's highest pick is 24 in the first round. Maybe we could throw in Ryan Gamble to sweeten the deal, as he wants out for more opportunities.

RFC should trade Tambling.

He has never had a consistent season; why would he suddenly transform into a superstar next year when he has underperformed in every year prior.

Potential is worthless; need a fully committed player to the RFC and Tambling will never do that.

So a player who is flogged from pillar to post on this board is suddenly worth a first round draft pick? A player who was dropped this year, and couldn't average above 20 disposals a game? Righteo. I know he had hip problems, but stop using that as an excuse. If Tambling wants out, I would assume Richmond will do their best to get a deal done. There is just no way pick 14 is remotely close to his worth. I like Tambling as a player, but where he was taken in the draft has no relevance anymore.

People who think we will get 14 for him are mental. But people such as yourself who think we are going to trade him for a pick 30-ish are just as deluded.

The answer you're looking for is somewhere in between. :thumbsu:

Richmond supporters (without any bias), what is Tambling's true worth in your own opinion?

Exactly, which fits the Bock compensation pick perfectly (which is pick 19 in 2 years time, or 26 this year). I never said pick 30ish, maybe I should have worded my post better.

Probably won't be 26 this year though.

Brisbane will get their pick for Rischa before you guys probably, and who knows what other clubs will do. I can't see many teams hanging onto their compensation picks for a couple of years.

Difficult to tell I reckon.
I'm really unsure of his worth as a pick. But I would be happy with a top 20 pick. Whether that's his worth or not, I don't know.
Your pick 19 to be used down the track as you suggest sounds fair and reasonable.

At the end of it all, if the Tigers aren't adequately compensated, he will remain a required player for the RFC. Be gone with these trippers from opposition boards with dillusional thoughts suggesting a later round draft pick in exchange for his services!!!

Adelaide won't (and have stated that), but Richmond have the luxury of highish draft picks this year anyway, so I could see them holding onto it until the value increases.

There are two ways of looking at it:

1. Seeing Tamblings upside. The guy had his breakout season in 09 and performed to the expectation of a number 4 pick. Then he entered pre season with injuries. He struggled with injuries all year and therefore could not get back to his form. If he is injury free there is a huge chance he will slot back to his 09 form, ecspecially considering the side will be improving and I believe Tambling is a guy who will shine in a good team. I think they call that a frontrunner or downhill skier, however those players are needed when you are in premiership contention. Would be worth keeping him because he would be at the very least in our bottom 5 players when we are going after the cup. If he is in our bottom 5 it means we have a very good team.

2. Trade him for a pick under 20. If we did this we may be able to land a player like Kieren Harper. This kid probably has just as much upside and x-factor, but is no certainty to ever make it past 10 games. YOu know Tambling has enough to make it at the top level if everything goes right, this kid is an unknown at top level, but could be a very very good player. Just using him as an example.

3. We get a crap pick say in the late 20's. The only way I can see the club going for this is if they are really keen on a kid they believe will be there or they know Tamblings body is stuffed. There is probably one more option which is that they believe that Sherman for example is an adequete replacement for Tambling and the pick secured for him will pay for Sherman.

Personally I would only want to get rid of him for a pick between 15-20.
Summed it up well amcre.

I tend to agree, unless we can get a top 15 pick for him, 20 at the very outside. In form he's at least as good as Brock McLean. Unless of course his body's shot. Then 20-something will do I guess.

Our 2nd rounder would get the deal done with Tambling.
****wit.

Richmond supporters (without any bias), what is Tambling's true worth in your own opinion?

His value this year won't be his true value which is why we would be stupid to trade him. On his 2010 season, a 2nd rounder would be a good result. But his 2010 season was injury-plagued and he was played out of position. His 2009 value is easily a first round pick (a real first rounder, which this season is probably top ten) but I don't see anyone offering that up.

If we trade him it will be the first really stupid move by the club under the new regime and will put a big dent in my confidence that we're on the right track.
