Heard some whispers that we have renegotiated and would accept
Gibbs -----> 13, McGovern & Dear

Mitch McGovern – 21yo Key Forward who plays taller due to his athleticism. 23 games in 2016.

Harry Dear - 20yo Key Forward who is tall and powerfully built. 0 games in 2016 (injury).

No chance....That's pretty much valuing Gibbs more than Dangerfield last season...

Gibbs 24 for McGovern and 13 seems fair.

Its simple.

Adelaide start talking and SOS stops them dead flat. Calmly says to their recruitment team, "i understand you want bryce, im not going to put a price on him directly, if he is your final piece then id like to know what a premiership is worth to you instead? Or good luck finding another midfielder, now continue with your pitch"

Dangerfield was a restricted free agent.

Gibbs is contracted for 3 more years.

Big difference.

No way that trade happens, even if we throw in our second rounder we are doing well.

Still need to be realistic about it. 13, McGovern and Dear is just being silly......
Yes, I agree. I just disagree with your Dangerfield statement, totally different scenarios.

This offer seems to be Carlton's starting point. They will likely meet half way.

People really need to stop referencing the Dangerfield deal in valuing players. Adelaide DID NOT get value for Danger, so it's invalid to use it as a "hes nott betta dan Danger!!!1111" argument. Gibbs' value probably is about what Cats paid for Danger. What Danger was worth was way the hell more than that, but no contracty, no valuey.

We got shafted when Jacobs left.

TBF on that one we basically forced him out by not giving him any opportunities and weren't that upset when he left or the compensation we received.

In hindsight it looks like we got shafted, but given we were trading a ruckman that we wouldn't give a game ahead of Shaun Hampson I don't think there was ever much value there.

Exactly. Crows say Gibbs + 24 gets 13 and Lyons hoping that the Blues say forget about the 24 you are not getting that. Crows fake disappointment and settle for Gibbs only.

We say 13 Mcgoven + Deer hoping the Crows say we can have 13 mcgovern but not deer.

Dangerfield deal does not come into it. Totally different situation.
