You can't kick goals when you're unconscious.
Phillips is limited and one dimensional.
TDK is not even close to being ready.
Lobbe is now gone.
Cas likely gone.
I don't even want to imagine a 2020 where Kreuzer cops an injury early and we're forced to play Phillips for the rest of the year whilst also rushing TDK in because Phillips can't pull up good after playing 2-3 weeks in a row.
Cameron would be a good cheap get that fills a need, allows TDK more time to develop, and fits the desired team profile.

If they have a need they're going to ask the top of the tree first and go down from there, contracted or no, and if he cops a whack from an opposition club for it he doesn't mind. It's all part of the game; if you don't ask you don't get.
It's exactly how we ended up with Russel last year. Andrew wasn't looking to leave but we asked the question and that was enough to set the wheels in motion. Get the feeling that's what we're doing a lot of but on the field this year instead of off field.

Considering you are saying it’s a big move and the team is likely still in finals, I’m predicting it’s an interstate team as big player movement between Melbourne based clubs does not really happen.There is definitely a big move (and plan B big move) being worked on at player management level; given how media/news can derail, partially laid plans, news of this will surface after the season has ended for the club(s) involved.🗝
So that leaves GWS, West Coast, Brisbane.
West Coast - all their big players have recently resigned or are from WA
Brisbane - Andrews, Hipwood, Neale, Zorko, Cameron all are contracted. Could it be McLuggage, Witherden, Rayner?
GWS - Kelly, Greene, Cogs, Hopper, Taranto, Cameron all signed. Could it be Whitfield or Caldwell?

Murphy is just as much a culprit, but uses it more as a shrugging technique to free himself up, flow on benefit is getting free if he is taken high
Selwood uses it to draw high contact when there is no way out or advancing the ball, Matho and Christensen actually cost their side momentum looking for the contact

Happy to take Christensen, but only if he came very cheap.
Would rather see who gets pushed out if he returns to Geelong.

Bingo, Murph is using his small stature to try to slip out of tackles. Selwood and Co duck. Can tell the difference as Selwood and Matheson duck just before contact. Murph shrugs after contact.

Don't have an issue with Selwood drawing free kicks. It's good game craft, well within the rules, nothing stopping other players from doing it, just a lack of ability stopping them from being as good. Simple solution, better tackling technique. Tackle him right and he can't shrug but he positions and sidesteps so well it's hard. Quite simply it makes him a good player.
It's actually a genuine issue with out team, we badly lack the ability to draw free kicks. It's a lack of game craft, unwillingness to put the head over the footy and take a hit and a lack of strength through the core and shoulders. That's an issue we have with our young players and something we must get better at.
Hugely underrated the ability to break a tackle or half break it so you can get an effective handpass away. Players who are good at this, generally the side effect is winning a lot of high free kicks but they are also the ones who are great at winning the contested ball and being damaging with their possessions.
We spend a lot of time complaining we aren't getting a good ride from the umpires. Lack of ability to draw free kicks and a lot of the time a lack of elite pressure is the reason for that. Not umpire bias or anything like that.
Nothing wrong with drawing free kicks as long as it's not something that consumes a players game. You need that in your team, it's one little aspect that gives you a bit more of an edge.
