Its 2-1 with 1 Test left, this will be a out and out road. It won't be a result.

India won't risk drawing.

Won’t be a draw and they need to win don’t they to ensure the WTC not that SL will beat NZ 2-0 away anayway

India do need to win to ensure they finish above Sri Lanka. The Lankans are 1/120 at Lunch of day 1 of their first Test so I wouldn't be so sure as to say they're no chance to beat NZ 2-0.

Fair, but surely NZ can't bat worse than last series surely

Didn't Green have to slightly modify his action after an injury and his bowling hasn't quite reached the heights of when he first came on to the scene?

Correct he had to remodel his action.

But having said that not sure we have seen much of his bowling since then. He has hardly played for wa and has been used sparingly at test level.

Reckon the mower would’ve been out yesterday, it’ll dry up quick. Turner or a road the turner

According to the curator they are aiming to have the game go longer but it was extremely hot the last couple of days which has led to the pitch being drier than expected.

Translation - they were trying to prepare a road but it’s got a bit dryer so will take spin early as usual.

Translation: The BCCI had a word to the curator

Suppose the expected pitch has not be given to the media as yet as the BCCI is apparently keeping open its options with either a black soil deck or a red dust one.. the latter turns more if I have it correct. Which one will they choose?

Pic of intended pitch now released but still no word on the soil type .

The pitch would have went to the barber shop for a very smooth shave! Honestly the look of pitches two days out...

I’m expecting a pitch extremely similar to the 1st test tbh. It won’t be a bunsen like last test. Let’s hope we win the toss.

Yeah and despite the whinging on here that pitch played fine...if number 7's can make 80's it's not awful. Feel you are correct, will play well the first innings but chasing will be tough

Apparently the black soil one will take longer to break up but will have cracks etc

Honestly there was nothing wrong with the first two pitches aside from what they were trying to do with the left handers in the first test (which didn’t even work).

Yes which would be valid...if Axar/Jadeja didn't get runs lol

We just batted like utter donkeys

Whilst there’s a few who like to whine about anything, in this case the results don’t matter the sheer action and intent was a ****ing joke at the time and still is now no matter how it played out tbf - that was a line crossed too far

Other than that yeah no problem with the first two, the ICC ratings have been spot on with Average, Average, Poor

I still don’t like the Indians attitude towards pitch doctoring and how open they are about it, if you’re going to do it do it subtly like everyone else ffs

It worked in the first innings, but died in the second as it had nothing left. Second pitch wasn’t a good pitch but it was a bad pitch for both sides

Well at the end of the day it's their pitches, and we have to be better and more calculated how we bat on them. We did in the third test funnily by not sweeping a lot, it's a miracle boys they have a long on/long off hit it to them lol

Any wonder our boys are showing how inept they are to spin over in India when they are learning the bad habits here in lower tier cricket. How many actually use their feet by reaching the pitch to smother the turn, push for singles, drive thru the covers or loft over the top. Very very few. Most play spin more in hope than good management, by simply plonking their front foot forward one step and hoping they connect cleanly, others play the risky slog sweep, go back almost on their stumps to cut and inevitably edge or are bowled, or are trapped in front. All because of poor crease management and the all important footwork. Makes you wince...

When players just play from the crease you are asking for trouble and waiting for the ball with your name on it. It never works in the sub continent. then you are right they can't get off strike so they look for a slog sweep or a normal sweep and the ball runs along the ground and they look at the pitch like it's unplayable...yet if they got to the pitch they block it...

I’ll be interested to see how the ‘keep politics out of sport’ brigade go if they’re watching on day 1…..
