Threw straight in the air. Can't do that if it slipped out.

it didnt slip out, he had half the ball cupped in his palm, the other half touched the ground.

So, no catch because of grounding, and yes you can still throw it straight in the air because you still had the ball in your hand :p

So India appealing is cheating and Haddin doing it is incompetence? Yeah....nah.

But in 2008 the Indian captain grabbed the moral high ground but they are proving that they don't deserve the right to grab the moral high ground.

Australia never claimed the moral high ground.

We're both unportsmanlike but at least we're not hypocrites.

Yes, it's appealling for a wicket when you know the batsman wasn't out.

No wonder India don't want the DRs system.
alot of umpires in the world can't wait to trigger austn batsmen.
as seen by the last two ashes series in England.

In the footsteps of rudi:eek:

What were they appealing for? No noise and the ball missed by an inch and a half at least?

I guess you guys don't remember Hussey, Clark, Ponting, Gilchrist and co going up like there was no tomorrow when Sangakkara was given out caught off the helmet down in Hobart when he was 192 and everyone blaming Rudi. It's easy to blame the umpires isn't it rather than call the players you support cheats. Whereas when the shoes is on the other foot it's easy to call the Indians cheats isn't it?

I don't recall any person of a position in Australian cricket complaing about it.

Once you have a bitch like the BCCI and Kumble did, then you are a hypocrite and deserve to be held to your own standards.

You, my friend, are wasting your talents on here. Get in to politics.

I am sure Haddin's appealing for farting might pick up a couple of cheap wickets.

Swings and roundabouts.

Now read the next sentence and try again.

Haddin goes up by himself because he is a brain dead idiot.

The Indians all go up together and then look dumbfounded when it doesn't go their way.

47 minutes were lost to rain

47 - not a good number to bring up when it comes to innings totals.

Although with them getting all the overs in, we will be starting at the normal time tomorrow rather than starting early

I think in this case a lot of people are getting angry at the Indian players because they played a huge rule in stopping the use of DRS. Dhoni and Tendkular have been outspoken critics of the system.

I think today is another perfect example of why the DRS needs to be implemented (beyond the fact it would have overturned three incorrect decisions). When the DRS gets something wrong (which isn't as often as umpires), everyone can just get angry at technology, instead of umpires, or teams, or nations. It takes that emotional aspect out of it, which can only be a good thing.

Old story , but wasnt that because the 2 teams had a gentleman's agreement to take catches at face value (fielder's word) and there were 2 catches claimed by captain (Ponting at Silly point off of Dhoni) and vice captain (Pup at slips off Ganguly), thereby bringing to naught said gentleman's agreement ?

Khan to Haddin, no run, pitched up on the stumps, appeal for lbw and it is turned down. First impression - pitched outside leg. Good length, drew Haddin forward and rapped the pad as he fell over. Ok, I was wrong - that pitched in line according to HawkEye. DRS would have given Zaheer the wicket. Deal with it, India.

bit of venom from our friends at cricinfo.

As for cheating, didn't hughes twice get the benefit of poor umpiring decisions when not walking? BTW this is NOT a criticism of hughes (for once). I fully endorse the batsman waiting for the DRS or the umpires decision before walking. Further I endorse batsman calling for an umpire review if the question of the catch is in doubt.

The technology is there, use it.
