Brendan Fevola up for Trade *MERGED THREADS*

I think the only option would be Port.. If the hawks trade their 1st round pick for SB, that means port adelaide can get him with two first round pick 8 and 9..

Would the Blues be happy with that?

Get the best pick(s) player(s) Deal for Fevola, Chase Barry Hall to replace him at FF, and build our forward line over the next 2 years why Hall is at the club. Its not the end of the world if Fevola goes, St.Kilda moved Lockett on and 2 years later played in a GF, yes they lost but the world still does function even without Fev in our forward line.

Re: Fevola Sacked!!!

Even the football media surely aren't so dumb as to expect the club to take a 4th round pick (or less) in exchange for the reigning Coleman medallist on $700K.
I don't think anybody has suggested a 4th round draft pick. I think that Carlton will simply accept the best offer they can get. Whatever that may be.
Does fev's desire to stay or go have an impact on the trade? Does he have a choice?
Of course it does. Carlton won't want a player that doesn't want to stay that has also caused many problems. Surely Carlton also realises that it was only two years ago when they went through the Chris Judd trade and how it's best to help a player move to a new club.

this is just wrong Carlton should be ashamed of them-self help the guy don't kick him when he is down. also the club and the footy show should take some of this on there shoulders as well as the crown casino. would we be in this spot if the club had asked Brendon to leave before it got this far .would we be in this spot if the footy show didn't ask him to do street talk and not take the mic of him when they knew he had been drinking. would we(Carlton supporters) be in this spot if the crown would follow responsible service of alcohol i think not

Re: Brendan up for Trade

Not sure how I feel until I see the trade. If it's crap, then I'll be pissed. If it gives us cover for Fev both short and long term then I won't be too pissed. If we keep him then I hope we just get the best possibly out of Fevola for the next few seasons...

My question was whether fev has a veto option, does he have any legal say in where he goes? Can he put a stop to what might be a great deal, on the basis that he doesn't want to go to, say, port?

I was not asking whether the club should or should not help facilitate the deal he wants.

i just cant understand why they didn't get rid of him a few years back when we were developing a list, so we could implement a forward structure around our early draft picks. instead of now when the list is almost looking like a top 4 side they get rid of one of our key components. does not make sense.

He accosted various guests, including Chris Judd and the captain's partner Rebecca Twigley, knocked a beer out of the hand of Western Bulldogs star Adam Cooney and vomited.

That's the Age and the Sun now who have said he knocked it out of Cooney's hand but the Footy show footage clearly shows the exact opposite with Cooney knocking Fev's beer out of his hand.. WTF?

Yes and apparently paying for free booze is sexual harrassment too

i love feva to bits nothing beats yelling out FEVOLAAAAAA!!!!!! at a game just before he marks it gives u chills. im a proud blue supporter and have been ever since i breathed air straight into my lungs. GO BAGGERS.. fair enough fev has f***** up here and there but u sit back and think will he ever change?? will he ever sit back and realise that he is a big part of carlton and our future leading to a flag??
in my eyes he only thinks of himself ITS ALL ABOUT HIM not carlton so maybe its good that he goes without a doubt he will kick ass anywhere he goes.. ANYONE IS REPLACEABLE stay true to the blue boys its not all about feva look at everyone else GO BAGGERS

I guess in hindsight the Judd trade should've been - Fev + pick 3 or 20 to WCE - Faaaaaaaaaark

I've read somewhere, (can't remember exactly) that next year Fev was eligible for a spot on our veteran's list - half his salary not under the cap - but I'm too sure on this cos he won't be 30 yet. However, if this he is eligible does that mean he can go on other club's veterans' lists??

You've got to laugh at the nuffies from other clubs saying he's only got 2 good years left:rolleyes:. He hasn't had a serious injury since forever and it's not as if Ablett and Lockett didn't continue kicking bags of goals well into their thirties. He's a lead-up FF not a crach & bash CHF.

Ten news said there is already betting available to pick which club Fev will end up next year. With Blues at 2nd favourite at $6.. I'm definitely putting a bet on Fev staying!

.
Some of Fevolas current contract won't be under the cap once he becoems a veteran
If he leaves clubs he will not be eligible tho
you have to have played 10 years with one club i think

ok, first up i hope we dont get a suitable trade. But if we do i dont think we should let him go for anything less than....

A top 10 draft pick.

plus a proven midrange player (Josh Kennedy???).

plus a youngster that we can develop.

Anything less and he should stay.

This is exactly why Carlton will 'reluctantly' keep Fevola.

No club will give up a top 10 pick for a 29yr old KPP with off field issues.

Realistically clubs could offer pick 10-20 and a quality young player to develop. Which of course won't be good enough for Carlton so Fev stays and they try to spin it how they have been really tough on him.

While you're probably right, he's also one of the rare players in the league who could come to a club like Pies or Dogs and turn them from a top 4 team to a premier.

Can't see any club taking the risk though, unless we're willing to flog him off for next to nothing, like Lions did with Akermanis, plus pay most of his contract out.
