The last quarter was really good. Some super important ruck work in our forward 50, and that tap to Pendlebury in the back half was class.

A whole game of it would be nice

Lipinski and De Goey did the same

Maybe Teams have Figured out how to play Grundy so his Impact is not as Good also maybe not playing in a Good Side has effects

Our game plan has changed, we used to have midfielders clear space for him to tap to himself and gather. Clearances used to be his biggest thing. Doesn’t happen anymore.

He was never an amazing mark around the ground or up forward. He’s even worse now. Has he taken more than 2 marks this season?

Could say he always been a Average Tap Ruckman as well

Zero marks for 4 quarters of football

14 Disposals at 43% efficiency.

Thank F$&@K he doesn’t get it any more times.

The things he is not doing or maybe is incapable of doing are tap to advantage or to your teammates. And then block in the guts so they can get it.

Unfortunately I’m right. I’d rather be wrong as we are invested to $1Mil in him.

Here endeth the lesson.

Biggest fraud to don a Collingwood jumper.

Our game plan at the time made him look average. He was clearly told tap straight down and keep it in tight. Every tap was always straight down to the ground.

I really enjoy this high level of intellect. I suppose that’s why he kept tapping it to himself during the last 3 minutes of the 2019 preliminary final against GWS. All the while the ball being in our forward 50. Makes sense now why we lost. He got told to do it…..

Damn you Bucks…..Damn you to heck.

Just for the record he had 73 hit outs that game to 16. And we lost the clearances 35 to 54. How the hell does that happen with the most dominant Ruck on the day.

9 marks for the season. Pretty poor return. Zero tackles tonight.

I genuinely thought with McRae as coach that he would get back to his best.

This output we could have received for a much lesser investment.

I remember saying the big weakness of Max Lynch was that he could not mark. Grundy is not much better and Lynch was a fraction of the cost. I am hoping that behind the scenes GW is in dialogue with Port Power and maybe a deal can be struck. Really need that contract off our books.

Did you miss the “over the back” taps in the fwd line?
At least one resulted in a goal.

I said at the time, which was talking about 2018-2020. That’s when despite his dominance we never had him tap to open space with Treloar or De Goey running onto it. Just straight down keeping it in close.

With change in coach there has been a few taps this year that are getting creative.

Tackling is the other thing that’s gone missing, he used to be good for 5 or more clearances and tackles a game. Aggression is gone as well.

He just looks out of breath all the time now, maybe had a bad case of covid nobody knows about and still struggling with it.

He's never been any good at tapwork.

No Suprise by Bucks and his Mates

Jesus christ some of the commentary that surrounds him is absolutely cringeworthy. To feel so emasculated by a footballer because he's more progressive than you to post some of this rubbish, FMD

People think it's Cool to Bag Grundy

I didn’t see anyone wanting Witts retained over Grundy. Supporters would rightly have been up in arms if we dumped Grundy, for Witts.
It's such a ridiculous argument.

We should have kept Witts instead of Grundy, because it was inevitable that Grundy would become a star of the AFL, sign a huge long contract and then drop form. Is that the rationale?

This is a funny thread, a few posters with a chip on their shoulders!

Grundy is one of the top 3 Ruckman in the game the past 5 years. There are only two other ruckman this year that statistically are competing at the same level as Grundy, English and Gawn.

I wouldn't trade Grundy for either of those two.
