Burton must come in.
Jonas should be out but won’t be, so I’ve dropped Farrell.
I’d Teakle over Lycett, but that won’t happen.

I’ve gone for Rioli out, Georgiades in, DBJ into half fwd (did really well) and Mead as sub.

B: Burton McKenzie Jonas
HB: Williams Aliir Houston
C: Duursma Wines Bergman
R: Rozee Lycett JHF
HF: Butters SPP DBJ
F: Marshall Dixon Finlayson

I/C: Georgiades, Drew, Boak, McEntee

SUB: Mead
I quiet like your back six.
Georgiades should not come back until he has found form and kicked a bag.
Jeremy is far better value.

Don’t think anyone will kick a bag in the SANFL. Except maybe this week, are we playing an u/18 side?

Exactly we are playing an U/18 side: big opportunity for out of form players like Fanta & Georgiades to excel.

Lycett is just a waste of a spot in the 22 at the moment. Not sure if we'd drop him still.

I think Bergman might be most at risk of dropping out for Burton. Maybe Farrell but Faz has been pretty efficient with low turnovers at least, if not hugely impactful.
The injury report will be interesting on the Lycett front.

Currently watching the replay on Fox reminds me how much we have missed the boot of Trent McKenzie (in the losing last brace of games).
His kick in the last quarter to set up Marshall's goal was superb.

Jonas won’t be dropped but should be. Lycett, I’m less sure about. I think the coaches are recognising that he isn’t giving us enough. Even Bassett highlighted the obvious that he doesn’t get back to help our defenders by taking marks (Lycett doesn’t even pretend to try to drop back to support).

What I think will happen:
Burton in, Rioli out.

What I want to happen:
Hayes in, Lycett out
Burton in, Rioli out.

What could happen:
Georgiades in, Lycett out
Burton in, Mead out

Wouldn’t surprise me if they give MG another week in the SANFL. He was still all at sea with his marking contests, running under the ball with concrete hands against Glenelg.

I think you need to play your best ruck against English. He is a superstar in the making and if you give the dogs first use, that midfield will destroy Port.

Otherwise, Burton for Jonas (hahaha)

If the dogs play all 4 talls we are in trouble if we don't bring in another tall as well

Since when does Lycett stop the oppo midfield getting 1st use?

Ok hear me out

Give Junior Riolis role to Byrne-Jones

Yes it was only a quarter but thinking about DBJs strengths and weaknesses, that high half forward pressure role would really suit him I think. He's clearly been burnt to a crisp playing back and maybe the freedom up forward will give him the psychological safety to play without fear of brain fart into soft effort into soft effort chain of hot messy shit that has plagued his last few years.

Could then look at the McEntee/ Rioli / Fantasia and play whoever suits the ground/opposition and is in form. Then release SPP a bit more into the mids to help with our contest.

Burton in for Mead to the sub role. He'd be perfect for that as he can play multiple roles and is a good runner. Push Farell up higher.

I'd love Pasini in for Jonas and Visentini or Hayes in for Lycett but tell him he's dreaming

You could drop Lycett bring Dante in over Mitch. That would leave us with Dante/Finlayson/Dixon sharing the ruck. Dante could be useful resting forward but also can cover the ground with English?

Possibly a little early in that we're not willing to take a risk on Dante yet but maybe there's a case there?

Reasonable stuff there, except, no way in Hell is Burton going to play the sub role!

No point dropping players after only one game: therefore, I would drop Rioli to make way for Burton.
Then move Bergman to the wing, Boak to the forward flank.

DBJ gets a game but could still be the sub or; as you suggested, Mead/McEntee end up as the sub.
Georgei needs more work; albeit, at some stage I would like Evans in the side.

Dont mind the Dante for Slice move as we are going to need the height against the Dogs.
Pity Mitch has fallen off the cliff be great if he was in some form allowing Dixon to ruck more.

Plus Ken will need a fall guy when we lose to the Dogs.

He sub should always be someone fast like DBJ.

The team function well this game but there are a few changes I would like to see. Burton goes in for mead, DBJ goes in for rioli as a forward and rioli goes to sub.
