Callinan 4 goals last year at the Gabba. Horses for courses. Stiffy has obviously been stamped as a forward only. I actually would pick Callinan over Stiffy in that case. I hope he is fully fit though.
feel sorry for martin, came on as the sub for a half and still had more touches than petrenko who remains in the team.
Good call on Stiffy by the coaching staff imo. He became ineffectual in defense a while back and you could see it was terminal. As a forward he has repeatedly coughed up set shots and not done enough at important stages to justify the spot. His goose is nearly cooked.
That last part is the issue isn't it. A fit Callinan fair enough, one who hasn't played for a fair while, not so sure. Then there's the issue if you would have Pets over Stiffy, I wouldn't, especially given Pets also is underdone

If under performing players have a bad one against the Lions and are not dropped the week after it will be an absolute joke.

In a game we lost by 35 points. And he kicked a solitary goal. He's had that terminal, slowing look about him for a season now, I've been worried, really thought he would retire last year. Not surprised they've put the acid on him, even if as you rightly point out, he wasn't our worst last week.
in other news, fantastic to see brown still in the team after getting hurt against the dons. i really think he can be a long-term shutdown defender - now we have lost doughty.

Sando says Martin has gone back to get match fitness given his lack of game time. Well how much game time have Petrenko and Callinan had before their selections?
I should say he was starting to get patchy. The wheels weren't all the way off or anything. He just started getting run around a bit by players he would previously keep on a tight leash. It looked age-related. I could be wrong.

Callinan replacing Stiffy is neither here or there, and certainly doesn't deserve barraging of criticisms and gold pass talks, what utter crap.
AFL, please don't schedule a bye after a round 1 Crows game ever again, it seems to cause some supporters to become crazy.

Sando is obviously paying lip service there. All he needs to say is I picked Callinan and Crouch because I am the coach and that's the judgement call I've made. If I'm wrong I'm wrong.
He must have learned the scrambling for a weak explanation charade from Harper.
Yeah, all those on the outer had ripping finals series and sublime seasons last year... some people need to just log out of BF and wait for the game to come, take your frustration out on booze or something.
