Hawks dominated us for the first quarter and we outscored them in the next 3, played pretty well for the rest of that game. Swans game was disappointing but we were playing schofield and brennan in our forward line cause we were missing Lynch, Kennedy and darling went off early so I dont think that game should be taken as gospel as to how we performed against the best sides.

Considering just about everyone here, myself included, scratched out 2012 after the Sydney and Adelaide debacles earlier in the year, its still a good result for the season, however disappointing its end.

You have the best ruck combo-forward line (even without Le Crah )-and right up there in defense, just lacking a superstar mid IMO.

Yeah, as I just posted on the mainboard, we are probably one additional gun inside mid (to help Kerr and get us up on our clearance counts) away from really clicking as a team.

Love the backline - never seen a backline that has seemed so comfortable one-on-one with an opponent, or with ball in hand. ... er, usually, anyway.

Negative - Just remembered one of the most bizarre passages of play when we were at the forward 50, coxy had the ball and he just stopped? I'm trying to remember everything that happened with that but it was truly bizarre and we ended up coughing the ball up, I think it must've been the 3rd quarter cos it was left of screen.

Anybody remember?

It was to Embley wasn't it? I remember going off my head at him, was one of the weirdest things I have seen in a while. Received the ball and literally just stopped for a second or two before giving the handpass off and putting Embley under huge pressure.

Probably, my only explanation is that Coxy had a stroke

As i said adam selwood was only an example, but the point is a pure defensive player/tagger in his place and rather than scooter play a defensive role have him play an offensive role and cycle masten and shuey through that position as well. Kerr with the other main centre square spot.

Our biggest problem all year has been clearances. It seemed all year that nothing was done to solve the fact that we leaked the ball so easily and more often than we won the ball ourselves.

Adam Selwood had a very solid year Imo, was in my positives more than my negatives, his kicking was good and he uses his smarts well, he can play on quick forwards without being extremely quick himself and can outmark them in a contest. He's not too bad through the middle.

I much preferred the attacking Scooter, yes he's the best tackler in our team but he's also strong enough to break tackles and belt the ball forward.

I thought he was going for the old shimmy

Lastly in 2010 with all the injuries and poor form to seniors we saw a lot of youngsters in the side who tried their best but weren't quite up for it. Some of those guys are now very important parts of the best 22. What we really need is a couple of those guys this offseason to improve their games to the level that they can be roleplayers at afl level rather than just better than average wafl players. This goes out to you swifty and stevo.

I think its amazing but 1 preseason and 1-2 senior personnel changes and we could really cover our current deficiencies and hopefully move towards that elusive premiership next season. You may also notice that any of the players i suggest trying to poach from other clubs are actually attainable targets and not pie in the skies like griffen, rich, bennell etc. etc.
Whilst Priddis is occupying that no. 1 spot to the detriment of the whole team, never going to happen.

Whilst he cannot play anywhere else on the field, never going to happen.

Whilst the position is his week in, week out, without a fear for how he is performing, avoiding any judgement... never going to happen.

Whilst no one throws him out with his walking frame to Retirement Home, never going to happen.

Whilst he's judged on here as a Top Bloke around the club, his 50 shades of Vanilla play & disposal, nrver going to happen.

Wish I could have a job like this. Put my feet up and spud my Company up without any recriminations.

Positives:
If it'll make you feel better, Joffa won't get a seat in Sydney, and he won't be wearing the Gold Jacket.
Watch out 2013. Where does Le Cras fit?
Oh and the All Blacks won. It was the Springboks and even the Wallabies beat them, but what the heck.
Dead cert for my tipping comp. Sweet as bro.

Negatives:
12 months
Lost another Lotto ticket.
Hawks to win.

Food for thought: Team looks like it'll mature well for next year.
Joffa will be in Sydney.

Just watched the replay (why?). I think if I gave you all one chance you could guess at which point I turned the c**t off

They had one eye firmly on the week after. There's no way they didn't control that match.

The Collingwood song at the end?

We got killed by Hawthorn in Melbourne, we got killed by Sydney in Perth. They're the two best sides.
Not our year, should be happy our draft pick is two spots earlier than if we made it to the Prelim ;)
We were on top of hawks for 3 qtrs but mids lacked the killer punch and ability to set up forwards (same against collingwood) In the first qtr agains hawks mids failed to defend.

We have small young mids.

Sydney - we had 10-11 out give it a miss.

The Collingwood song at the end?

Well before that.

You know how you watch a replay and you still get pumped watching it as if you don't know the result? Same happened here until the infamous grubber of the apocalypse.
