The people who have seen him play have said he looks slow and not confident. Coming off a serious injury so thats understandable.

I want surj in this week and wanted him in last week. I don't think we NEED to bring him in or that he is going to fix any problems though because he clearly isn't the same player atm.

The two games I've seen in the last month he's been aggressive and fearless in his attack on the ball, covered a lot of ground and clearly looks a class above. If we're leaving Logan in his BP role we could replace a flailing Broadbent with Surj in that role - or just leave Broady to drown and send Surj to Freo for a warm pie at the end of the year.

Whatevs.

Maybe in the last few weeks but I don't think his form over the year has warranted the weekly calls of "The club will fold if the don't play Surjan (and Chad)" You have to remember the club are looking for him to improve areas of his game as well. They did it with Banner and I thought his defensive work was prettty good v the Saints.

If he's ready ****ing play him. Please.

What on earth is with people wanting older players brought in so much? If Surjan and Chad had been left in all year people would be going mad wanting them dropped.

Surjan turns 26 in August. 26.

Maybe we should just delist everyone under the age of 21 and only take the field with a list manager and a few scouts clutching their registration number wishlists, TAC Cup DVD's and raging boners?

I'm curious Powerade. Why is it OK to bring young players with spotty or average SANFL performances (if that) straight into the side
Like who, O'Shea?

Because when it comes to selection what they do on the training track is as important as what they do in-game at SANFL level. No doubt O'Shea would have impressed them in the pre-season enough to get an early call-up. I think he has been ok after his first few weeks.

Moore for one. He had 5 touches in the SANFL the game before we brought him up. Then he got subbed off after having 5 touches in 5 minutes in the AFL to bring on Kane ****ing Cornes. There really doesn't seem to be a method to the coaching staff's madness sometimes.

Totally. He apparently wasn't fit after the preseason and has paid for it - which is pretty funny in itself given it is embarrassingly obvious we made a sow's ear of our training regimes anyway with Primus admitting he eased them right off to avoid injury.

It's the inconsistency of it all. It's clearly driving a wedge into the psychology and motivation of the group - another example, Surj is expected to return to his elite form of early last year or it's the SANFL, while a half-fit non-competitive Carlile can sloth around for months - and Primus will only lose the players quicker than Williams did.

Jack's famous mantra was that they're only bricks with ears, but they can spot hypocrisy, blatant inconsistency and perceived favoritism a mile away.

And I've seen a game from him earlier in the year where he was miles off the pace at SANFL level. I agree that he should be brought in now but it's a myth that he and Salopek have been tearing it up in the SANFL all year.

Forgive me for ignoring the opinion of someone who says they last watched someone in the SANFL several months ago and that correlating to current form

Didn't say that though m8. A month of very good current form should be enough for a usually established first-teamer to supersede any number of incumbent plodders conspiring to gift us the wooden spoon.

Every week for the last few I've started writing a post that we should drop broadbent but thought better of it. Whilst Broadbent hasn't been going all that well the last few weeks, his drop in output has mirrored that of our midfield in general. I really do think he needs a break and surely Surjan by now has shown he can run out a game. He even went with Matty to ROH today! That's gotta get him some brownie points ;)

Agree that he should be brought back in now. But coming back to training unfit + a poor start in the SANFL should mean it's not too surprising that he's been on the outer for a while.

Huh? I'm saying he should be recalled now. But I don't think his form has been that great throughout the year

IN: Surjan, Motlop
OUT: Stewart(Can't see him clunking too many with the slippery conditions or running a game out in the Darwin heat), Ebert(Don't see much of a future for him or Motlop, but Mots is in the better form)

Lots of players extremely lucky to be in the side. But no one else is demanding to be selected.

Nobody said they'd been playing well all season more Surj has been in good to very good form for the past month.

Comparing early season woes with both players returning from injury to now does today's form no justice That was all

Must Daniel Stewart keep his place?

IMO,

Out: Dan Stewart, Brett Ebert
In: Daniel Motlop, Jacob Surjan

And Brogan, Westhoff back for the Showdown for a nice token win?
