He looks like he doesn't give a f*** to be honest. He gets by on skill, and you can tell when the game heats up like today in a final. No Goodwin there to motivate him, no Vince in there to motivate himself.

I tend to agree with this. Hendo to replace Talia's spot? Although, Hendo on Pavlich does sound like a horror movie. But you can't go past Jenkins after he booted 8.1 for the Double Blues. Martin, the super-sub?
I am staggered at the Vince hate when he got over 20 possessions and we had so many players who struggled to crack 10.
Anyway, we need to bring Martin in. He's kicked bags of goals two weeks in a row and notched up over 20 possessions. If we play Freo we are going to need his pace.

Talia will be out with a broken arm. Patty has been cleared so he probably only has a minor fracture in his jaw.
Sam Shaw has played 10 games so no one should be surprised that he was a bit overawed. There is only one way for kids to get finals experience, play them in finals. It's a bit late to experiment with players who have not been playing as key defenders all year. I think I might have mentioned a few (dozen times) that it was dumb to play Rutten and Talia every game this season. The only player on our list who has been playing as a key defender in the SANFL is Luke Thompson.
Talk about throwing him to the wolves, Hi Luke I'd like to introduce you to Matthew Pavlich.
No shit? I should check the stats before bagging him. It didn't look like he got much of the ball.

Who comes out for Martin?
If it's Tarlia or Shaw - it will be a major disappointment and will just end in tears as he is not a defender, back pocket or even half back flanker.
Because at the moment, we have 2 outs (if shaw's hamstring is an out) and no automatic omissions.

Because the guy is so ridiculously talented and plays like he just doesn't give F^&CK!!!
No intensity just floats around looking for easy possessions...ffs get his hands dirty and do HIS SHARE of the HARD STUFF and help out the guys like Thommo, Danger, Sloane etc who play like their life depends on it !!
I'm sure we did, and I'm not questioning Dougie's application or effort; just the terrible decision making that seemed to be a regular feature.
We can't afford players who can handle finals pressure. Hopefully he can redeem himself next week.
I'm not suggesting Martin plays defence, as I highlighted how many goals he has kicked. My out would be Petrenko. You just can't accept a performance like that and hasn't done anything for awhile.

Douglas' decsion making didn't stand out as poor - particularly compared to some of his team-mates today. Being at the game I can think of more than half of the side which didn't handle the pressure - certainly worse than Douglas.

Fair enough, good explanation and justification and would not disagree with it.
If we play Martin, I'd prefer to see him on a wing/on ball/midfield rotation and would like to see Vince moved to that half forward flank and play as a running high half forward but don't know who I would drop out of Stiffy, Callinan or Petrenko as none of them did anything today to justify selection.

My apologies Punchy, I thought the thread was "Changes for Week 2 of the Finals", is this the pour shit on Bernie Vince thread?
Bernie did play the second half in the backlines but I don't see him replacing Talia
I'm pissed off at Vince because he repeatedly jogs past contests, and he hung Shaw (I think) out to dry when Vince could've cut off a lead and spoiled his player, but he wasn't willing to take the hit.
He's just so disappointing, he should be one of the best players in the League, not a mediocre player in our side.

Far from the only one calling him out. Sando said he wants a finals gameplan. After today he knows the players who can't handle a final and Vince as usual goes missing in a tough game. Deal with it.

Dont waste your time Kingy the apologists are out already.
The way we played today, I would take a mediocre player over about 6 shit ones. That's what I don't understand, we might want more from Vince but when there were several players clearly worse than Vince, and there are calls that Vince was worse on ground and should be dropped, I don't get it.
