So what does any of that prove? Visentini had a dog of a night and highlighting other players' performance does nothing to change that. I will back Marshall,Bergmann and Boak to improve on their performances against Essendon I would not be as sure about Dante. The issue is whether Visentini should get another crack at it on the basis of last week's performance.

Two effective hit outs for a ruckman who spends at least 60 minutes on the park is an astoundingly poor return. There have been games in which Sam Powell Pepper has been credited with as many or more hit outs!

Not unless we see a Hayes/Visentini double act, which may not be the worst option.

That will not happen. Ken will probably use one of Visentini or Hayes backed up with Finlayson and Dixon. Given that Lycett's injury is officially listed as 1-2 weeks Ken will probably do what he did with Brynn Teakle and stick with Visentini for the duration of Lycett's out time.

Marshall, Boak and Bergman were down on from. Visentini (not helped by how it went down) wasn’t the best. But Huston, Rozee, Fairall, Williams had great games.

In previous years, Port would full over if 3 prime movers were down. This year, others have been standing up

Should Visentini get another game? Probably…. They have given him 1, he will be better for the run, let’s see after a second run.

Visentini had a stretch of about 13 mins sitting on the interchange in the third quarter. He came on ground for a couple of mins then was subbed.

Not sure if it was injury related, or the club just knew he was getting spanked so couldn't risk playing him.

Yes, that is right and we have to wonder if Ken thought that Dante was not up to it last last week will he give him another shot at it this week? If Hayes was in the poor form he showed earlier in the season I would say give Dante another crack but Sam Hayes was pretty good in the SANFL last week and deserves another crack at it.

One thing is certain, if Sam Hayes does not get another shot at it this week we will know that his cards are marked.

The optimist in me says that Hayes has been held back to come into the team leading up to finals as a bit of an unhearalded trump card.

The pessimist in me says Lycette rucks dutifully though hampered mobility wise with his knee for the rest of the year.

With 10mm of rain, no way that Hayes plays (not that he would anyway) Finlayson to suck at centre bounces (at the expense of his excellent work up forward). We should still win however but with no development of younger players.

This won't be any more than a grind out win, typical Port home game s**t weather & the suns getting drilled in the press so they'll be amped up a bit etc.

The stars don't align for us much in terms of annihilation percentage booster circumstances.
I agree, I do think it will be a tight one. Suns are decent in wet weather. Percentage has become irrelevant for us, Lions and Pies are that far ahead there's no way we get close. Just need to keep winning.

After watching our percentage go backwards after last week's win I'm all in on close wins that whittle down our percentage as low as it can go while maintaining a top 2 spot, just for shits and gigs.

I'm fine with Dante getting another go tbh the pile on during & after his debut has been fukcing ordinary.

The Hayes situation is not his fault, it was an awkward way to debut he deserves another look.

Cornes mentioning Hayes as an option for this week

"Hayes hasn’t featured at AFL level since Round 11 last year but was dominant in the ruck for the Magpies over the weekend, with Cornes mentioning Hayes’s eligibility would be discussed during the week."

What's there to discuss? He's eligible.. play him. Reckon he might have a point to prove

Couldn't give a stuff about percentage, just keep winning farken

Converstations about Hayes eligibility will be very interesting...

"Is this Hayes bloke eligible to play?"
"What do you mean Ken?"
"You know, like is he on our AFL list?"
"Yes Ken"
"You sure? Seems strange that we would have had this bloke on our list and not played him since round 11 last year with all our ruck problems"
