Just has a terrible feel about it. Will hard to watch this, win lose or draw. Really, if Port don't beat this side, it reflects very badly against them. Dougie is cooked, can't anyone see that? Mackay is not AFL standard, is so one sided and has zero physical presence. Could we contemplate turning up Saturday to watch the skills of Kelly, Hartigan, Mackay, Douglas and Talia in the same side again. Unbelievable.
Port are average, we should beat them as comfortably as we did earlier in the year

They aren't very good so we should be winning.

Kelly has done very little wrong this season

Now that might be a contender for worst selections this year. Mackay and Douglas over Jones? Da faq?

Yep, and we will be shocked sitting here when yet another player wants out of the AFC at the end of the season.

Who can blame them with our selection culture, been the same for 10 plus years.

Just when you think the club is heading in the right direction with selections... BAM we flip the switch to Classic Crows

Really disappointed :(

I’m not surprised at all. The progress was when there was no pressure on. As we get closer to September and still in the hunt for top 4, the pressure ratchets up a few notches. And when the pressure is at highest is when peoples true colours are displayed in all their glory. Our true colours are valuing mediocre experience and poor form ahead of everything else. Great news is that continuity becomes a huge factor among our selection philosophy because we want to minimise changes from hear on in. So both Dougie and Mackay are pretty much locked in for the rest of the season. What we’re seeing is reversion to our pre-season inked in best 22 because we’re building towards finals. ROB had better not have a rare bad game, he’s already penned in for a desperately needed breather, they’re just waiting on the opportunity.

How long until the club enthusiastically announces Douglas and Mackay have been signed on again for next year?..

Great work lads they’ll state.. long term warriors for the club... you deserve it.

You should them some respect. They have resisted big offers from Victorian Clubs to come home, such is their value. :drunk:

Comfortably??... did you actually watch the game?.. we gave up a great lead in the first half of the last quarter and they almost took the game off us.. in the end we consolidated and won by 20 points when we should’ve won by a lot more.. we were up 7 goals at the start of the 4th ffs.

And they were massively undermanned missing some of their better players and R gray who always tears us a new one.

This is my tip:

Milera to replace Davis up forward.
Mackay to replace Smith at half back

And wait for it............

Smith to replace Gibbs in the middle, you heard it here first

That’s the only way I can accept Mackay back. Given Seeds and Atkins form he’s not playing on the wing.

He aint a forward that’s for sure.

If we move either of those 2 from the wing to fit in Mackay I give up.

We have far too many morons at our club, you can carry a couple but once you get to a critical moron count it is all over.

We need a broom to come through off field, oh I yearn for an external review.

We were going to do a significant external review last year, weren't we?

Pretty disappointing melts guys, come on, lift your game.

Are we that jaded that this stuff barely raises an eyebrow anymore?
I mean if you've been following this team over the past decade you already know that there is this pervasive lack of imagination throughout the club's hierarchy and a contentedness being the slightly bigger and better club in a two team town. If we accept the bizarro world where we still have some of Neil Craig's assistants coaching the side today then we also have to accept things like Dmac being selected for 200+ games.

This season is shaping up to be a disaster.

We're well off the pace, will not finish top four, and have yet again abused our club's future to double down on the same failed seniors. We get a year further away from that premiership window, and we're doing nothing at all to move back towards it.

I get the feeling Douglas won’t go out until Lynch is fit

I get the feeling Douglas won’t go out at all. He’s ahead of Mackay in the pecking order and when you have experience, role is irrelevant because you’re deemed to be flexible. So Mackay would need to go first, but we’re setting up our continuity crew for our September crack, so he won’t be going anywhere without injury.

feenix67 - are you meeting with Fagan?

Ask him where the strategic plan and vision for the AFC is?

When we do expect to win a flag?

I don't mean 'be competitive' - I don't mean 'make the 8 and then anything can happen' - I mean, when do we expect to develop and improve our list and our first 22, to the point that we believe we are a genuine chance of winning a flag.

Seedsman and Atkins won’t play 100% game time.
