Hamill?

He's been very average. We don't need more turnover merchants.

Brown and Jones aren't the problems, FFS

Given our complete inability to run or even move the ball out of defence, I’d say they are very much part of the problem

The reason we have no forward targets or coherence in our F50 entries is because of how poor, how slow and unpredictable the ball is moving when we try to build from the back

We have a possession and territory based game plan and the skills backward of the centre circle are KILLING US.

Jones and brown are definitely problems.

There's no better evidence to support this than the second half against Fremantle, when Dawson was dropped back and suddenly we (and by we I mean Dawson) were breaking Fremantle open by hitting aggressive targets up the corridor from defence, and actually looked like a football team for a quarter.

Drop Luke Brown and play Laird as a back pocket. Brown is older and only contracted to end of 2023. Laird is contracted to end of 2026 so we are forced to find a long term position for him.

Pick one of Crouch or Sloane to drop. Both contracted to end of 2023. Sloane is captain so he is virtually impossible to drop. Crouch dropped

Drop O'Brien for a month and play Strachan
Long term contract - cant be dropped

This is why I hate long term contracts. I understand the business model around them but you need to choose your players appropriately

If you sign players to LTCs then take the hit and drop them if required. This mentality of having players playing the highest level based on contract length or 'service' kills clubs

Really it doesn’t matter what changes we make, we don’t have enough good ball users on the list or run and carry players. Sucks about Seeds.

Hamish has butchered the list. He has to go
We do have enough to push up the ladder. Not to contend yet though.

The problem is we have Keays in a high disposal role ahead of guys with genuine ball skills.

Get Dawson into Keays role.
More midfield time for Rowe
And maybe play Rachele more in the middle as well.

No we don’t have enough. What your suggesting is moving players from their roles to make up for players who aren’t good ball users or provide no run.

Laird, Crouch, Sloane and Keays are a shocking mix. Schoenberg has had a shitty start but he’s better than what he’s showing. I don’t understand why it took him 10 minutes to get on the ground in the last.

Berry and Hately, 2 mids in waiting are poor kicks. Pedlar has a long way to go and should be more advanced for a pick 9.

2 mids we drafted in Jones and McHenry aren’t good enough to play midfield.

Despite a handful of good prospects, Hamish has butchered the rebuild by not drafting decent mids. Jones over Butters is a killer.

What the hell happened to Brodie Smith? He used to provide this for us

Not going to disagree with midfield drafting it has been a shambles.

But Dawson and Rachele should be mids.

See DeGoey tear us apart with far less disposals than our top 5. That is Rachele's future.

Too early on Pedlar and Schoenberg in a form slump. Jones will never be a mid. Struggling at HB at the minute.

Berry could be a decent pack to pack inside mid. But haven't seen enough yet.

None of these guys picked as mids (played the role as juniors) show signs of being elite.

Rachele does though.

We drafted Pedlar, Berry, McHenry, Jones, Soligo, and Taylor as midfielders and brought in Hately. Plus we can try Rachele, Dawson and maybe even Cook in there.

No shortage of midfielders to try. In a couple of weeks it might be time for Taylor

Taylor is one I’d like to see at some stage.

Has Soligo attended a centre bounce this preseason/season?

The way we introduce our mids is shit putting them up forward in a struggling team

I'm keen to see Taylor in the SANFL, confident he'll be a class above
