And what a surprise the load management comes in for the youngsters when we're playing North and not playing Collingwood and the Bulldogs.Yeah, it is important to manage the load, the load of dog sh*t coming out of Crows HQ.

Agree on this. You wonder when Butts will ever get a game if not now.I'm all for the kids, would love to see Shoenberg, Worrell, Sholl and Butts debut. But as Carlton and Melbourne have shown being completely smashed every week doesn't help the development of kids, the opposite.
We need a win or two
Atkins in for Mackay is ok
Knights for McAsey isn't ideal, would prefer McAsey to Himmelberg
Gibbs I'm ok with, he's been the best in the 2nds
Kelly for Dude, would have preferred Worrell or Butts
I’ve noticed Nicks gradually sway away about talking too much about the youth in recent weeks unless directly asked, there’s either been a directive from above to get a win and he’s in panic mode or he just wants to try out the whole list in his first season.

I can't see us winning this game. Bringing in multiple average experienced players (Atkins, Knight, Gibbs) who haven't played an Afl game for some time is pure stupidity. I can understand Kelly to some degree being brought in for Doedee although Kelly is a pure plodder and I would rather we play McAsey down back for Doedee and Fog or Worrell up forward instead of Himmelberg. Himmelberg has shown on multiple occasions he will never be anything other than an average sanfl footballer. Sounds like Fog is ready so why would you not play him over Hiimelberg? Or why not leave McAsey up forward who looks like he is about to tear a game apart if he takes the marks he was very close to last week. I cant seem to work out if they are trying to win this or lose it. Totally weird nonsensical team selection. Feel this game and melbourne are our only chance of a win. Lose both and the 0 17 record is very likely. That surely will put the spotlight on the administration and cause some resignations.A win would be a disastrous result for the club. It means we'll continue to stick with the team, depriving all of the kids of game-time and setting back their development, and adding another year to the supposed rebuild.
Brisbane just smashed Essendon (the team we just lost to) with 7 players with less than 50 games experience and 1872 games total experience
We are set to face North Melbourne with 9 players below 50 games (just two more than Brisbane) and with total experience of 2001 games
Jesus mate, when will it dawn on you that Nicks is just a function of the club strategy culture as a whole. There is no difference between Nicks and Pyke and even Walsh and then Sando and Craig behind them. Selection philosophy has not changed and even though we're at our lowest ebb, we still favour this week's potential 4 points ahead of anything else. This is not new.
The right move making Smith skipper at least.
Its weird to reward a guy for choking away the match deciding shot, but whatever.
Club Announcement 2033: "Although David Mackay has broken all records to play for the Club to age 45, he announced his retirement as a player ... blah blah.Mackay will play until he's 45. And we'll keep signing him
Or.....I know it is, that’s why the rumour didn’t seem so far-fetched
It's kind of scary the amount of people that are talking up Riley Knight on Twitter and Facebook and still think he can be a long-term player for us. I'm not rooting for the guy to fail, but he's never been a great player, he had some great moments, but like Atkins he needs the team to be flying to fly himself and we are stuck firmly on the ground.

fu**, really? This is literally the first time in our history that we have been bottom and the AFL is dictating our selections by threatening tanking sanctions? fu** this league
We had only 9 of our 44 players aged 28 plus at the start of this season. Unlike some posters, I do not enjoy abusing and disparaging our players. I stated at the start of the season there were three players I didn’t want to see.OK Bryce time to put up or shut up, your friends in the media have been whining all year now you're in do something.
I don't think anyone has a problem with those 7 or 8 guys getting a game if they're playing well. But most of them aren't.We had only 9 of our 44 players aged 28 plus at the start of this season. Unlike some posters, I do not enjoy abusing and disparaging our players. I stated at the start of the season there were three players I didn’t want to see.
1) Bryce Gibbs; I do not know what happened but there was an enormous drop in form by Bryce since the end of the 2018 season. I have seen all of his matches in 2019 and 2020 (excluding the 14-a-side scratchies) either live or on ipad/television. Even his supposed “good” matches in the SANFL last year had the same signs. He panics and has poor disposal even when under little or no pressure. He just looks mentally cooked. I hope that I am wrong but I really hope our coaches are not looking for non-existent green shoots.
2) Bran Nue Mackae; He is not cooked, he is playing exactly the same as his last 100 games and that is the problem.
3) Kyle Hartigan; Arguably a bit harsh but at 28 imho he will not be part of our next challenge for a flag and doesn’t offer a lot more than potential replacements (Butt, Worrall).
Unlike other posters I have no problem playing Sloane, Lynch, Walker, Talia, Smith and Seedsman if they are fit and playing well. This week we are playing 7 of the “old guys”, not ideal but far from an outrageous event. I note that not a single Tool, Troll or Crazy who went bunta about bringing back Tex against St Kilda has acknowledged that their predictions about Tex were WRONG.
There is a separate argument about which players in their early to mid twenties we should select (Murphy, Keays, Himmelberg, Frampton, Poholke, Stengle, McAdam, Crocker, Knight, Atkins, Kelly) who were all aged between 21 and 25 at the start of this year.
If we win today, I will enjoy it. If we lose we secure Pick One. Win/Win
Likely worried he plays too well which will make it harder to drop him or "manage him". Club seems generally worried when a youngster outperforms someone they have invested so heavily in with games and especially cap. Almost take it as a personal affront. One messed up footy club.Nicks is messing with us.
Talks up Mcasey as taking a huge step on the weekend and supporters will be excited to see it, then drops/manages him for a game where he might actually have a chance to put it all together.
