I could handle Gibbs coming in if it also meant we bring in Schoenberg. Move Jones to an easier position (i.e. Mackay's role) if necessary.

I wouldn't bring Kelly back (for Doedee) just for one game either - Butts or Worrell would be my preference, followed by McAsey. Worth considering that North Melbourne usually stack their forward line with talls against us.
I think we are going to be disappointed this week.

Looking at the bombers coaching line up - they've got a bloody good one, no excuses there:

John Worsfold (Senior Coach)
Ben Rutten (Senior Asst + team defence)
Blake Caracella (Mids and attack)
Mark Harvey (Stoppages)
Dan Jordan (Forwards)
James Kelly (Backs)

Plus Leigh Tudor as a development coach.

Compared with ours...

Matt Nicks (Senior Coach)
Mick Godden (Mids)
Ben Hart (forwards)
Matt Clarke (Rucks)
Brent Reilly (Defence Development)
Heath Younie (Development and SANFL)
Matt Wright (Forwards Development)
With our coaching list, we clearly are not interested in winning games this year.

My main concern is in a rebuild, good development coaches are more critical than ever.

So whats he gonna do?.. go back to the seconds and find his form at seconds level only to come back up to AFL level and once again struggle ala Poholke..

The reason kids like Jones, Milera, mchenry etc wtc are struggling is because we keep dropping him back to the seconds to “manage” them and then play them out of position when we do put them back into the AFL side so we can accomodate sh*t players like Mookay...

give the kid a good run at it at the top level and let him learn from all his highs and lows..
Or give him a good teacher

When Lynch was in his prime he would use his elite endurance to run his opponent up and down the ground and because he was so damn fit, they couldn't always keep up with him. This allowed him to get space and clean kicks into the forward line. These days he struggles to get any space on his opposition and is often forced to rush his kicks inside 50. Shit even the few times he did find some space on the weekend, he shanked his kicks anyway.

Full season??... what full season are you on about?... its gonna be 16 games ffs..

hes been on the list nearly two years.. if he cant get through 16 games then there’s something seriously wrong..

he doesnt need a break.. he needs to play every game..

Short breaks between games can have an impact on young players, and they often need a spell to freshen up. This isn’t a new concept and it happens at all clubs, especially when the player puts up a couple of absolute stinkers in a row.

Maybe we’ll elect to push him through it and change his role a bit. Maybe we’ll give him a week off. Either way, the world won’t end. His confidence is completely shot right now so something has to give.

Need to manage players over the next 2 games with a short 4 day turnaround with plenty of changes.

Bickley glowing whilst spruiking Gibbs with Ben Hart.

It's happening 🤮
If he’s playing well you pick him. What the generalised feedback from coaches is he’s playing well and have been good with the juniors. Apparently he has a complete shift in attitude..

Guys like Walker and Talia would be a concern

Give Himmelberg another go.

Any player struggling to play 2 games in 4 days needs to be rested as great opportunity to try different players in a rebuild year.

Everyone is becoming aware ROB isn't getting the job done in the centre circle...it's not just me.

The same blokes reckoned we should recontract all our old spuds the last couple years.

Now we're paying for them to play at other clubs

That's completely wrong. These kids AREN'T getting a chance to play in the twos, and that's how they will actually improve. It's gradual. Look at how St Kilda brought Hunter and Coffield along - give them a taste in the firsts, then some time in the seconds to conslidate, then a run in the firsts to show how they're developing, then some time in the seconds to improve again. Eventually, they've played 30 or 40 games and they're looking like real AFL players.
