Id bring in cook, nank or dowling for Keays..

But we all know it isnt gonna happen..

Keays is everything thats wrong with this club at the moment.. and has been wrong with it for a while..

If anyone at the selection table thinks Keays is the answer to anything.. then they need to be removed immediately.

I can handle young players not getting many touches and making a couple of mistakes/skill errors in a high pressure game like yesterday..

But a memeber of our leadership group getting just 11 possesions, and fxxking up half of them atleast, is a complete and utter fxxkn joke.

As I stated in the Keays thread, my 12 yo has better skills. Knows how to kick a footy and hit a target.
Wish I had one at the airport when I was returning them to Brissy in Jsn and saw him.
I would have yelled out this is how you kick a footy Ben.

These guys need a taste to know where they need to get to and how close or far off they are

No mate, we’re just outside the 8. Strategy is no different to Pyke in 18/19, it’s all about the favoured 25 and building continuity in the group. It’s the foundation of our overarching strategy on football. And despite having played lots of kids, we’ve never left out a senior that wasn’t a negative impact on that game’s result. We don’t do development for development’s sake. We select to win regardless of contending or rebuilding.

How do we point the finger when so many played badly

There's bad and really bad.
Yeah, many played badly. Some played even worse --- Himmelberg, Keays, Fogarty, Soligo, Sholl all had shockers. Another group --- Smith, Rankine, Sloane, Murphy --- were nearly as bad (my impressions based on Poll peer-votes in Review thread).

Out - Hinge (inj), Himmelberg, Parnell, Gollant, Sholl/Milera, Berry (sub)
In - Doedee, Thilthorpe, Worrell, Walker, Cook

Sholl/Milera to sub

If you go through our disposals for the whole team that was a seriously bad performance up there with one that a club puts in once every 2-3 years. I'm not sure what sparked it. Maybe the club had illness go through it during the week or the club wasn't in the right mental space to play in Ballarat. We were comprehensively beaten all over the ground.

Predictable melt, but now everything is Keays' fault:
"Keays is everything that's wrong with this club at the moment.. and has been wrong with it for a while.."??

Keays had a bad one, for sure. Looked lost (maybe no 'job' given by Nicks?).
He was not alone.
C'mon.

What's "senior"? 50+, 70+, 100+ games? Of the latter we have only a handful. Keays now has 100 up, the others are 200+.
The heavy majority of our side is youth.
Crouch is the obvious counter-example to your statement in bold. From memory, Pyke dropped Jenkins more than once. "Never" is a tricky word; like "always" and "all" it's best avoided.
We don’t do development for development’s sake. We select to win regardless of contending or rebuilding.
I see why Nicks has done what he did in 2020/21 and the first half of last year, which is not to say I agree with it. Loss-minimisation was the most important thing --- we're gonna lose, let's limit the damage.
It's a rookie Coach job-saving mechanism and it protects the egos of the kids who are raw and prone to deflating disappointments.
It must have been hard to get the blend of GF-losing-experience and youth right, and Nicks often stuffed it up. Like I said, Rookie Coach.
Re winning: his approach to the Geelong game was ok, imo. They should have beaten Collingwood and it would have been folly to send more kids to get demolished down @ that hash-brown-shaped shithole.
I'm glad he went for the win.

Yesterday, I don't know what happened and I couldn't see Nicks doing much to change it up.
If recruiting can draft or trade in a couple of strong, skilfull mids, Nicks might Coach a contending side.
If not, the Crows will be stuck in 7th to 11th and the next Coach will have his work cut out for him.

What a waste of time. When incidental contact is investigated it's worrying for the game.
Over zealous umpire Williamson who doesn't like us.

Think he has umpired moat of out games this year. Why?

Yes, Worrell IN, Sholl OUT, Hinge to Sholl's wing.
Hately is interesting call; could probably not be any worse than Berry but that's poor selection criterion.
