Cox should be pinch hitting in ruck these days.
Naitanui needs to offer more when not rucking, thats basically it. I find it hard to believe that he would be tactically left out to dry when he can offer so much. I wonder if he has confidence issues at the moment given his stop start run last season and lukewarm performance thus far in 2014?

I have no problem with people's concerns about Naitanui's work around the ground. It is poor.

His theatrics are a big liability on our midfield.

You mean when he does this rubbish?

I don't actually think Cox has lost much of his rucking ability or that he is incompetent in that area.
And yes he is looking lean and sharp.
But he is so keen to flounder for a free upon contact that it is really hurting our team.
Simpson and co need to let him know that's not on.

Did you not watch the game last night?
Sure did.

You have every right to have an opinion just like I can base my respect on your opinion on the quality of what you post. If you can seriously say you think Cox is ineffective in the ruck then I probably won't take much notice of what you post from now on.

You make me laugh. Feel free to ignore me if you disagree with my opinion on this one topic.
It is a silly and juvenile response if you are visiting a forum to hear other people's opinions.
Cox's rucking is fine, when he wants to ruck.

I agree.
Not sure whats up with NN, I reckon he is still carrying something.
He doesnt leap for the ball in marking contests. Just looks sore now. He only leaps in ruck contests and even then he isn't getting as high as he used to.

Sheed needs to be brought in and Priddis dropped. Bring in Hutchings for Lecras. In form players for me and I don't care if we play people out of position. Play Hutchings for Priddis and Sheed rotating through the forward line.

Did I say drop Priddis?

I'm simply advocating somebody at the club giving him a big wake up call.
He spends about 50% of his rucking duties being effective and 50% being ineffective.

Cox seems to be spending more time playing for free kicks in the ruck. When he is around the ground he spends time waiting for us to gain possession and run forward. It appears to me he is demanding respect from the umpires and his players because he is a legend of the club. Me thinks his ego is way bigger than Subiaco oval right now. That being said, he is still effectual in the ruck but NN is more damaging in the ruck atm and this may be because Cox is playing for frees. Sinclair seems to be more damaging up forward taking contested marks.

IN - Hutchings Hill Sheed

OUT - Lecras (inj) Sheppard ( groin ) rest , Selwood ( foot ) rest

Bit different but need to rest players who carried injury through part of games , Sheppard seems to suffer an injury late in game and Selwood lost feeling in his right foot after an injury scare in second quarter .

Gee I hope Sheppard is not a required out.
Really got into his groove last night in probably his 2nd best game for us.

We were clearly at least two talls too many last night. Colledge was played across half forward and I didn't see him on ball at all.

Sheed, wellingham for schofield, Sinclair and possibly hutch for colledge.

The other option would be slotting butler back and getting yeo midfield minutes if hutch isn't ready

Little bit disappointed with Yeo.
Wasn't his fault but felt he was under-utilized.
Instead Sheppard was given the duties to dispose of the ball in our back half.

As bad as cox is at that - damn he was being held a lot last night.

NN the same - in fact NN should have had a heap of frees for being shepherded off the ruck contest when he wanted to go third man up. Happen half a dozen times - was running to the ruck and was blocked by someone with no eyes of the contest

Some of the frees he plays for are technically there.
But our team is not responsible for umpiring decisions.
Cox has to be ready to play through decisions that, for the most part, don't completely hinder him from competing in the ruck if the umpire determines that the contact is not free-worthy.

I've been feeling that a bit all year to be honest.

Look at all his Brisbane highlights and he's flashing and dashing with electric pace pretty often. Looks faster.

It's almost like he has to follow Simmo's gameplan so much that he can't really take players on and do his thing anymore.

This is the downside of having two ruckman who play near the clearances.
The umps sometimes get a bit confused about who is the nominated ruck (even if there is only one ruckman there).

Nah, it's pretty easy when the opposition has 1 ruck.

Sinclair/cox were bodied up against hickey - NN was often 15m off the contest

It isn't just NN - targets are back getting away with blocking with no eyes on the ball.

The umps have to ping this again
