Leave the FWD line as is for at least one game.

Maybe Wagner can fill Swittas role in a positional change for the game. The bulldogs defence is tall. Draper comes in as it’s a tallish defence maybe.

Brodie Starts. JOM Sub (needs a kick up the ass)

I think it’s important we leave the winning team in so they may keep it simple. In Brodie, Out Switta. Best performing from Peel as the emergency/Sub.

Out: Switta - calf
In - Who ever has a good game in the WAFL. I would like Erasmus, to play forward with a small run through middle.

I thought we were too slow, on a a narrow ground. I don't think we want to swap Switta for Brodie, which will make us slow.

If Brodie comes in, the O'Meara needs to go out
Is it possible to have both Broadie and O'Meara in the same best 23?

Let one start in the middle and the other start on the bench?

Some people think rudeness and arrogance is entertaining, I don't. Much prefer JL's maturity
I think people often see what they want to see.

I thought he was combative at times, but typically most of the 'rudeness' always seemed to be frustration with crap questions from journalists.
Except for Ross' weird metaphors I thought his press conferences were interesting to watch.

I rarely watch JL's, I find them a lot better if I just read the transcript.

I think it would be insane to drop Sturt. Or change anything up forward, including Banfiled.
Everyone played their role and the forward line functioned the best it has all year.
Sturt doesn't get a heap of ball but he always makes something happen and knows how to kick to advantage.
I reckon if he got a good long stint in the side his confidence is going to rise and he has the potential be a Fritsch type. Has the knack of leading into space and is generally a good set shot although his nerves got the better of him. But he needs a chance to feel comfortable. Remember how bad Shultz and Switta were at kicking for goal? Brayshaw on the run? Players need time to acclimatise.

Yeah true.

Dockers kicked 15.10 .100 this game. Dockers have the dogs next and their back 6 isn't tall or elite.

Dogs back 6 is ok with some players. Curious how Amiss, Sturt, Schulz and Walters play in the forward 50.

Schulz kicked 3 this game. That was sort of expected.

and the wise head returns to bring together reason, sense and harmony. Universal order is restored. Close the damn thread! :p

Also, while Im here I'm assuming "Banfiled" was just typo business, but damn if it didn't make me chuckle, seems so ridicoulously ironic

I think he should get another crack. He adds something a bit different to the front half and we don't have a lot of options.

It's funny really. Imagine if Henry had Sturts game yesterday.
Henry has 2 games similar to Sturt and we were lauding him

Problem with Henry is he had 2 absolutely terrible games after it

We are just different types of people. I listen to and watch a post game press conference to get the coaches perspective and opinion on the match. Justin gives that information in a deliberate, honest, and measured way . He is also firm in his conviction of how he saw the game unfold even if the media try to force him to say what they believe is the real situation. He also manages to do it without all the offended little boy histrionics we had to put up with with Ross. If I want a melodrama I will watch a good movie.

They are indeed painful. I now wait for a journalist to quote the best sentence.

Clearly you don't enjoy the JLO Clearly drinking game.
I recommend shots of beer instead of larger beers or higher alcohol shots, because you will certainly get a few

Yeah, nah........

You don't want to give Sturt time to settle in an 8 point game but you want to bring in someone who has barely played for Peel and hasn't played and AFL game for us?

Give me some of what you're smoking
Corbett has proved more at AFL level then Sturt has, and I feel like we need more marking power against the dogs. I don't think its that crazy of an idea to have more faith in a guy who has played 33 games and kicked 29 goals for a struggling sun's side then Sturt who has only played 5 games and his latest one was poor.

I know everyone on this forum loves Sturt but I'm being realistic.

Corbett had to finish off his hard work today and couldn’t. He stays in Peel for now.

Sturt deserves another go. I don’t believe he deserves a huge block of games, but deserves at least one more before being swapped out.

Glad to see Rory is being coached well this year. His stats are a damning indictment on our coaching staff.

Through week 5:
3 Goals (on pace for a whopping 13.8 goals this year. He only had 39 goals last year)
1 Behind
12 hitouts (on pace for 55.6 hitouts. He only had 156 last year)
1 Tackle (on pace for 4.6. Had only 35 last year)
2 marks i50 (on pace for 9.2. He only had 49 last year.)

I'm just happy that Lobb is getting the coaching he deserves.

His closest replacement, Luke Jackson, is clearly not playing as well either...

Through week 5:
3 Goals (on pace for 13.8)
3 Behinds
49 hitouts (on pace for 225)
20 tackles (on pace for 92)

I really like how Jackson is building. He's not a finished product and he'll get better. By the end of the season, we should have a better idea of how he'll fit in the team.
