I’m guessing there’s another injury concern? Corbett likely the Sub, understand Wilson as an emergency, he doesn’t really need more game time at Peel however you would think Erasmus would benefit more from a run at Peel rather than travelling unless there’s actually a chance he’ll be playing?

Why play Corbett as sub? He's a lead out forward

You need a gut runner to add extra pace in the third or 4th Quarter

Erasmus for mine

How the **** does Banfield and Hughes get games. They are absolute spuds who zero game sense or execution of skills.

We are gonna get pumped with JOM doing nothing in the middle

Idk why we expected something different from the match committee:
  • Rushing an injury prone Switta in
  • Playing an under done Noddy
  • Not rewarding Wilson who has been smashing it at Peel

JOM getting played purely on trading mistake. Output is terrible.

Aish getting by on a tagging job to an injured Clayton Oliver in 2022. Done **** all since.

At least Hughes and Banfield leave it all out on the field. jOM and Aish don’t push themselves. Effort is always sitting around the 50-70% mark, no sprint or repeat sprint efforts.

Then drop all 4 of them.

Trying hard isn't good enough when you are shit

The other two need a kick up their backsides for not producing

Surprised JL has done more than Switta for Freddy. He probably thinks it is swinging the axe hard to drop Wagner. On the latter, I struggle with the logic of selecting him after the GC shocker and then dropping him after he plays better ... I'm not a fan of Wagner, but maybe give it more of a chance to see if he keeps getting better? What's the point in only giving him 2 games? Either don't select him in the first place, or give him an extended run.

Corbett has kicked a few goals against Brisbane in the past, and looked OK in his brief time on the ground versus the Dogs. Should put him in the starting lineup for Banfield. Erasmus should be in the 22 and one of Hughes, JOM, Banfield the sub.

Aish should have been dropped for his lack of effort against the Bulldogs. I would have made that the change for NOD, rather than dropping Wagner.

Absolutely idiotic bringing in Switkowski and O'Driscoll this week, there's a 0% chance that either of them are fully fit. I don't care how crucial they are to the team, neither are ready to come back.

Dumb selection committee as usual.

Yep I agree
Just trying to look good on paper

Wagner is terrible. I understand why he dropped him but there are others who need to improve who are regular 22

Nah probably trying to save his skin. Noddy was struggling to run out the 4th so doesn't make sense. You aren't going to get match fit from one game at Peel. I am more annoyed at the disrespect shown towards Wilson. He has been playing very well at Peel and is loyal to the club.

I don't rate him either and wouldn't have drafted him. But why select him in the first place? Bringing him in and then dropping him 2 weeks later suggests they don't have a clue what they are doing selecting the team.

It is a bit hard to believe that Banfield offers more than Raz. In fact, I'd back Raz in to offer more than jom too.

Edit: the more I stew on it the more annoyed I get. We have a top 10 talent who is fit and available, he fills a big need for us (big-bodied extractor) but we're still going with the mystic intangibles of Bailey Banfield. It's not even a case of just blooding a kid because we're given up for the year, FFS he's good enough to be playing NOW. what are we waiting for? And it's not lack of fitness or matches because why would NOD in then?

Where players are named usually means stuff all but I wonder if we're going to try and get Johnson in to the Sheezel/Daicos role off half back. Didn't seem to have a defined role last week - the more ball he gets the better. In saying that, we already have someone back there we should be trying to get involved more in Young.

You just answered it

They don't have a clue.
