Eh, they're both pretty interchangable at this point. Neither are much chop as shutdown defenders but offer a fair bit of offensive drive.

In what world are Parnell and Worrell interchangeable?

Worrell is 195cm, 88kg and can defend talls, smalls or play an the interceptor roll.

Parnell is 177cm and at 71kg has to run around in the shower to get wet.

Even offensively they are worlds apart.

Worrell - 3/4 of a game - 19 disposals, 14 kicks, 555 metres gained, 6 intercepts, 3 turnovers, 1 mark, 3 tackles, 2 inside 50's, 8 rebound 50's,
Parnell - 2 full games- 41 disposals, 31 kicks, 541 metres gained, 9 intercepts, 9 turnovers, 14 marks, 5 tackles, 5 inside 50's, 5 rebound 50's,

Re-watch the Bulldogs game - Parnell was shocking with his usage of the ball.

Worrell > Parnell by a massive margin.

Interesting - according to Champion data we have the 2nd easiest draw in the run home.

Sack them? No - just saying they aren't irreplaceable players in our side.

Where do you think they would be sitting in our B&F?

I have been one of Sholls biggest fans on here, but he is far from irreplaceable.

Thats not what I said either. I said the form he is in now and same with Hinge means they dont need to be dropped. Worrell is unlucky because his form isn't irreplaceable at the selection table right now.

Barrett is reasonably accurate here. And I thought at the time of the incident that Zorko was flog and went too far on Pedlar.

Seriously though, how many times did a player like Judd go for an eye gouge, a chicken wing tackle etc. Mitchell running around kneeing players, apart from his habitual sniping.

Seems like some players just become media darlings and some become the villains

Well, for starters, Hinge can play for 4 quarters, not 3 :sneaky:. Worrell was gassed @ 3/4 time.

I don't understand what the fanfare with Worrell is. While I wanted to see him at AFL level, his 3 quarters didn't set the team on fire.
19 disposals, 6 intercepts, 3 tackles, 550m gained (2nd on ground behind rich) in 3/4 of the game isn’t something to sneeze at.
He was our 10th ranked player, if he continued on the way he was he would have ended up about 5th behind Dawson laird keays and Rob in the rankings.

Had to laugh at some in the media that said he only got a game because of his reputation.
And why does he have a reputation??

Applying a bit of mayo here. Who said Worrell was gassed at 3/4 time? That’s not when he was subbed. He still played a fair chunk of the last qtr, he went off with cut nose, came back on, they didn’t sub him then. He later got subbed. Parnell time on ground was only 8 minutes.

Weird that Worrell is out as it looks like they clearly rate him highly. Can only assume he's being managed.
“Omitted” “unlucky””squeezed out””returning players”

Who do you think misses to allow Worrell to play?

It’s weird posters keep going on about this managed theory for a player who wasn’t first choice before injury, but somehow is now even though the quality injured player is returning.

lol, yeah.

It was a shit move by Zorko. He deserved a week. Personally I think that's the sort of garbage that needs to be rubbed out of the game. It really was completely unnecessary

Couldn’t agree more.
As I say to my 8 yo, if nothing good is going to come of it, don’t do it.

The only way Worrell is a regular in the best 22 is if the crows send a defender back to the Sanfl. He probably should be in the best 22 but there isnt a player not deserving of a spot whose playing right now, arguably only Murphy and you aren't going to move Milera to a smaller players spot just to fit Worrell. Murphy is holding down McAdams spot if any and if not McAdam right now it would be a Berry. I've also read others suggest Sholl. But again, why would you move Milera out of the backline when his ability and class in deep traffic is simply elite. Max took Worrells spot due to injury and thats all there is too it. Its unfortunate. I feel sorry for him but timing is everything. Parnell should be playing too. But due to building depth he is also a victim of lack of injuries.
Imagine the melts when Worrell can't get in the side because of Redman .....and then what about Nankervis ?

I don't know if he's being managed. He's had quite a few soft tissue injuries since the pre season so I think there is some basis for the theory.

If he isn't, I just think it's weird as all signs (including how well he plays) points to the club really liking him.

I can’t think of another player that’s come in and managed after one game?
All their fitness stats said he was obviously ready to play.

That’s a few ifs there, I don’t think he will play much
Going to be interesting

He’s definitely in my best 22

As I’ve said multiple times I see him being able to play Butts role

And also see Hinge as a wing but also understand why they like his speed out of defence

We are only 1 injury away either on wings or defence to him playing back half of season

Nice position to be in to have players performing that can’t make the side - yet

Need to change my post then, I thought he was off for the last.

“Omitted” “unlucky” “tough call” “squeezed out”

All words to describe Worrells omission.

Words that were missing:

“Conditioning” “cramp” “fitness”

Why do posters try to make up excuses rather than just give their opinion about Worrell being dropped?

Worrell has never been part of the coaches preferred 22 picture. There's never been any evidence for it, but there's plenty against.
