The good is the likes of Moore and Butcher look done and dusted from our list. The bad is Clurey getting dropped, this lad has shown more than enough to keep his place but has been given the a$$ so the likes of JT who has been shocking this year keeps his spot. I know we are all pissed off the way the season has gone but now it's all over we should be getting games into the younger lads like Clurey and co but the way we are handling the selections it's making a bad season worse.

Koch shouldn't have a say in picks or game day or anything. Just concentrate on corporate business. Keep his big nose out of anything game day. Stay out of if Kochy please. Best you can do is have a beer at Alberton.

I was being sarcastic about how nice of a club we are and how we do nice things.

I hope.

Clurey stiff, Jonas hasn't performed as well in SANFL to warrant selection.
Mitchell ehhh, can understand. The club wanted to drop a few and make a bit of a chop, Mitchell has performed well in the 2s and not many others are banging down the door

Good point, but SANFL flags are literally worth your namesake.

This needs to be approached from another angle.

Not only is some sort of finals footy a good experience for our developing players, but to win an SANFL premiership with an AFL reserves team would be absolute MINT. Can you imagine the no ALF in SNAFFLE crowd? A 'compromised' flag forever enshrined in SANFL records. Completely irreversible. Hashtag carn.

Waiting for the teams to be released like:

I don't mind selections. True to the rationale of past selections. Would prefer to see Tommy Logan have a game this year at AO. Looking forward to the game, it will be fun.

We are now being trolled by adelaidecrows supporters. I refer you to the 'like' of your post.
Mate that's not trolling, that's sympathising. Go back to last years posts when Crows in similar position. Massive hatred on our board for gold passes. I go to every Port game (really do as stated in other threads on your board) so I follow what's stated by good posters.

I dont care tbh mate...

Its the club I am worried about..

2016 could be 15th 16th finish ....

The dropping of clurey just shits me beyond comprehension

Clurey was custard against the Dogs. He's had a good run, and he will be back.

Ken clearly has the philosophy that if you are good enough you will knock down the selection door - and he has consistently shown he rewards those that have.

What are you saying about me? Joking.

For all we know Darling would've been poached back to WA, probably by Freo, on big money 2 years in. We need to move forward.
Hard to move forward when there is nothing much up forward to kick to. I could understand making 5 changes this week if it was to give some game time to the lads who have not had a go this year but to bring back Jonas and co while dropping Clurey just does not make sense to me.

Our talls and KPP's
Ryder
Trengove
Hombsch
Schulz
Westhoff

we have skinny O'shea 193cm or short but bulky Jonas 188cm to play KPD but **** all like that in our forward lines - ie Neade, S.Gray, White and Monfries and on the bench - Mitchell, Impey, and Krak . Johnny Butcher might be an emergency for a good reason.

Giants by name giants by selection
Corr 194/91
Davis 194/93
Haynes 192/92
Patton 198/103
Phillips 201/100
Cameron 196/93
Lobb 206/101
McCarthy 192/90

They also have Patfull 189/89 and Griffen 192/90 in the guts. And they like giants on their emergency list Tomlinson 193/94 Marchbank 193/90

Expect to see Jakey Neade take on Phil Davis for a quarter and a half and Sammy Gray to replicate his quarter and half on Harry Taylor act on Nick Haynes

Haha Ken you funny

The Ken must be as in "***ken destroying the club with his gold passes, bizarre selections and lack of accountability to any but fringe players and easy targets" kind of ken

Kane Mitchell, what a joke

What in indictment on the club and you as a coach that you would dare bring that talent less hack back onto the playing field

Remember vs Carlton Ken?

Hmm, when your lack of tactical foresight, and your incompetent midfield yob saw Kane in the centre as the player to receive the ball that was a free kick on the back flank that was always coming into the centre. And who did you have there? Exactly.

Remember, when he couldn't kick it to one of 3 players who were alone and in space in our 50, and instead put it laces out on the chest of the Carlton player 7 metres in front of the Port player (who could have gone in the other direction). Remember? Yeah, THAT Kane.

Ken, you are a goose.

You have ZERO tactical nous, make no adjustments game day other than zone/ man on, and now you play little shrimps like Neade, Sam Gray and Kane Mitchell in the same team and think it will work. Well it won't. And we know that because 2/3 of them are talentless and the other one we reserve to see if he will remain as useless as he has shown so far.

Ken you are seriously so far up yourself if you think they are either deserving of a game- they're not, are AFL standard- they're not, or better than other players we should be playing instead of them.

Go **** yourself. This is the same Willy Wonka selection shit that Primus and Choco delivered and you aren't any better.

2018 can't come fast enough to get rid of you
Jesus

Forget caros arrow...

Boydman bullet has sting

*wades through the goo*

What seems to be the problem? You're all losing your shit because some rookie who was pick 30+ doesn't get a debut game when our forward line hasn't functioned with the structure of three talls in Schulz/Ryder/Westhoff all year? Or is it the fact that we've given a young defender a taste of AFL level football - like we did with Jack Hombsch - and don't want him to pick up bad habits and think that the way our shit defenders have been playing is the way he should play? Oh wait...no...it's the fact that Kane Mitchell is getting a game over spuds like Moore and Young. Well, Mitchell may be a spud too, but at least he gives 100% effort, which is more than the other two can say.

Premierships are decided by more than just who plays what player in a particular position. Our problems this year are nothing to do with selection in terms of skill level. It's all to do with form and heart. If we don't turn it around with the players that get selected every week, we're not going to win anything with this squad, because they are ALL THERE IS. Playing Harvey isn't going to magically improve the running of players. It's not going to magically improve their decision making.
The only selection that is a bit odd is Jonas, but he's in our best 22 when in form and improves the rest of the back six, and he can't possibly qualify for SANFL finals so I don't have a problem with his inclusion. As others have said, we're going back to the 2014 structure and not the 2015 'let's play another key forward because that'll improve our side!!!!111!' rigid, glacial shit that we have been doing by not playing another tall. Imagine the side with the following changes:

Mitchell out for Wines
O'Shea out for Polec

And it's pretty much the 22 that lined up to play against Hawthorn in last year's prelim, with Ryder replacing Lobbe. Krakouer gets in ahead of Impey.

Not sure what you guys are actually wanting from the selection panel. We're supposed to be gunning for a flag with this list, not babysitting players and bringing them up to speed when they don't deserve it.
Thank you Janus for done common sense at last! The stuff posted on thus thread until then had been basically emotive tripe! Fact is that some believe we should be playing the Magpies team to give the young guys an AFL opportunity! Yeah right! Let's drop players that don't deserve a game, an replace them with fringe players that don't deserve a game .... Makes sense in some other universes! As Janus said, Port have had a crap 2015, because the ENTIRE team have failed on various fronts. For our remaining games our priority should be to get some sort of continuity and momentum back into the side, to get some confidence back and to set ourselves up for the preseason, and 2016. Along with that, the opportunity to blood a young player or two can now be entertained, BUT, should not be done willy-nilly!

Talk about Butcher down back, DBJ in, Frampton in ruck, with Harvey at CHF ....... !!!:drunk: That's is one hellova short cut to total destruction of the side! They would be slaughtered by the likes of Sydney, Hawthorne, and Freeo.

What we now need is for the entire side to start playing to their ability. If they do, we will get back to winning form REGARDLESS of which fringe player is in or out!
