I'm assuming Trengove went alright? Would be good to see him succeed at AFL level again.

“Rocky was fantastic today, not just from a pure performance point of view, I thought the way he gelled with our group and the leadership he brought to our group was fantastic,” Lokan said.

“I thought Sam (Powell-Pepper) along with Rocky and Jasper, showed us some of the things he’s really good at, his contested work is fantastic, he is a tackling machine, and while I didn’t think he was outstanding today, Pep was solid and showed us that he is a really class player.

A FANTASTIC 36-disposal, two-goal game from Jack Trengove wasn’t enough as Port Adelaide fell to Sturt by 25 points in front of a packed Peter Motley Oval on Wednesday afternoon.

Magpies senior coach Matthew Lokan said while it was a disappointing result on ANZAC Day, he was proud of the way his young side battled the match out.

With the unexpected omission of Marshall, enter Lindsay....its hardly a like for like.... the game was doomed from that point on.

We can try and save face with this game with a win, however its going to be a harder challenge than it was in past two weeks.

Regardless of any changes, the team needs to improve on the fundamentals of the game.

Minimize our turnovers and forcing the turnover is easier said than done, but that is what is needed this week and every other bloody week....

Key match up, Howard v Brown.....

Maybe Johnson’s turn to be travelling emergency.

Hope that’s all it is. I have no desire to ever see him and Neade in the same side unless it’s the Maggies side.

Keen to see Barry back though, never should’ve been dropped. Piss Amon off.

Can someone please tell me why you picked up Lindsey Thomas? Just a waste of a spot on the list.

To play as enforcer, among other important roles. We should have three or four Thomas in our list, to be honest. Shame we have only one.

Expect him to play against Hawthorn.

Second game at Etihad in two weeks.

Will require rotation of running players just for that reason, so I could easily see some players requiring general management dropping into the emergencies while guys like Barry, Toumpas and Johnson play just for this match to keep us fresh.

In: Frampton (resting ruck/ forward), Hayes(resting ruck/ forward) Barry
Out: Marshall, Amon, Thomas

Yep....I know I need to get back on the medication

In Johnson, Barry
Out Thomas, Amon

No-one who played Wednesday could be expected to play. At best they'd be good for 50% game time.

Lots of players on notice though- we have Marshall, Powell-Pepper, Rockliff, Trengove and Pittard and maybe even Ryder all fit and firing and ready to travel to West Coast. Given that 2 consecutive weeks of travel often tests all clubs, I'd be looking to include as many of these guys for the Perth trip as I could. We need to rotate our list over the next month seeing we travel to Melbourne, Perth, China and Tasmania over the next 5 rounds.

Ridiculous when we are screaming out for run and carry that Pittard played SANFL yesterday. Should have been an automatic inclusion this week.

Not the 2018 Jasper. Love the man but now with a history of hamstring problems his run & carry game are now a thing of the past. Also the guy can barely kick over 40-50 metres. Currently not quite best 22.

Just last week those who were watching said he looked a different player to 2017 and running freely. Easily better than current Houston / Clurey / DBJ. Makes us a better team and when fit should be in the first 16 selected every week.

OUT - Thomas (Susp), Clurey (Omit) Hartlett (INJ)
IN - Barry, Johnson, Toumpas

Maggies playing yesterday has well and truely limited our options. I would have dropped Wingard too.
